ArcGIS service analysis and troubleshooting

1 Overview

In ArcGIS 10.1, the Service Release Process is optimized and enhanced. Only the strictly analyzed map documents can be published as a service to ensure the effectiveness of the map service.

In fact, in 10.0, the document analysis function was added, and in 10.1, the document analysis function was enhanced, and more convenient problem solutions were provided. Before publishing a service, use the analysis function to check for errors and warnings and solve them one by one to ensure the correctness and high performance of the service.

2. Service document analysis

After setting service properties, you can click the "analyze" button in the edit Service Properties dialog box to analyze the service documentation, as shown in:

After analysis, the "prepare" window appears to show the analysis results, as shown in:

This window displays errors, warnings, and common information in the document. You can filter based on these three types or search based on keywords.

Each analysis result includes priority, resolution status, encoding, detailed description, layer, object type, and data box. You can sort these attributes.

Right-click the analysis result to bring up the context menu, as shown in:

In the right-click menu, it includes the suggested handling method and help for this error or warning, as well as positioning to the layer list, and you can copy all the content of this result.

For different errors or warnings, the pop-up right-click menu is not exactly the same, for example:

The main difference lies in the proposed solution. Some may have multiple solutions, and some may have only one solution. You can select the most suitable solution based on the actual situation.

3. Document Problem Solving

Select a proper solution to solve the problems in the document. For example, the layer transparency in the second-level road layer of the city affects the service performance, we recommend that you replace the color transparency by right-clicking the menu to complete the settings. Then, the status of the result changes to resolved.

After processing, the right-click menu also changes, for example:

You can regret it at any time and change it back to the previous settings.

For another example, the symbols of another layer use a combination of symbols, which may result in sawtooth due to slice. You can modify the symbol or enable the system to automatically adjust the line width, as shown in.

The Undo operation is provided to cancel the correction operation.
