The ASM instance has many special parameters. We recommend that the ASM instance use spfile instead of the initialization parameter file. For example, when adding or deleting a disk group, the asm_diskgroups parameter will be automatically maintained, you do not need to manually change the initialization parameter file.
The following describes some initialization parameters related to ASM:
Instance_type: Instance type. For an asm instance, the value is asm, and for an oracle instance, the default value is rdbms.
Db_unique_name: The default value of the parameter is + ASM, which is the unique value of the ASM instance in the cluster or on nodes.
Asm_power_limit: This parameter is used to control the speed of the rebalancing operation. The value of this parameter is from 1 to 11, the maximum value is 11, and the minimum value is 1 (default ), you can adjust this value based on the system's busy schedule. This does not have a big impact on your business or increase the balance speed.
Asm_diskstring: Specify operating system-related strings to restrict the disk location of the asm instance. For example, the value is/dev/raw /*, then, the asm instance searches for available asm disks in the/dev/raw/directory (Note: it also automatically searches for available asm disks). If this value is blank, then the asm instance will automatically find its available disk.
Asm_diskgroups: This parameter specifies a list containing the disk group name. When the asm instance is started to run the alter diskgroup all mount command, the disk group in this list will be mounted. If this list is empty, the disk group can only be manually specified and mounted with all mount.
