Backup and restoration of CISCO routers (1)

This article describes how to back up and restore a CISCO router and how to back up the configuration file.

In addition to Huawei 3COM, the largest router manufacturer in China, CISCO, the most widely used router switch equipment giant in China. We also need to learn to back up the configuration files and IOS files of CISCO devices.

1. Back up the CISCO router IOS

IOS is the core of CISCO devices. We use the TFTP Method for backup.
Step 1: Create a TFTP server, log on to the management interface of the core device, and then use the copy flash tftp Command for backup 1 ).

Step 2: Enter the source filename name, which is the flash name stored on the core device. We need to run the show flash command in advance to check whether multiple FLASH files may be stored on a core device. We only need to back up one or two of the latest flash files on the date)

Step 3: enter the name of the FLASH file to be backed up and specify the address of the TFTP server. Then, the system prompts the target file name. In general, keep the default value. Finally, the system uploads the FLASH file to the remote TFTP server.

2. Restore the IOS of the CISCO Router

The method for restoring IOS is very simple. Just follow the steps above and use the copy tftp flash command to replace the previous copy flash tftp Command.
