Baidu Open Research Cloud Platform

The Baidu Open Research cloud platform was built with support from the Baidu open research plan. An open data analysis platform based on open-source hadoop 1.0.0 has been built, and hundreds of servers will be invested to support massive data analysis. At the same time, data from Baidu products and systems will be constantly stored on the platform for academic research. Users from academia can carry out data analysis research on this platform.

The Baidu Open Research cloud platform is free for academia. Interested users can send messages to campuscloud@baidu.com for more information.

To ensure that users have the same experience as using hadoop through command lines on the open research cloud platform, and to improve the security of using the hadoop platform in the open environment, the Baidu Open Research cloud platform provides a web-based user interface and a usage similar to the Web shell. The user submits commands in the input area of the web page, and displays the Command Execution Process and corresponding output information on the Web page.

Mahout Interest Group

You can register and log on to the open research community of Baidu and use the same account to log on to the Open Research cloud platform of Baidu (the platform is still in the applicable stage and the account name must be a combination of English numbers ). The Baidu open research community has not yet been officially launched. Sections and content are being added and adjusted. Teachers and students with the relevant algorithm background provide some simple mahout algorithm usage routines, helps you familiarize yourself with running mahout or your own mapreduce algorithms on the cloud platform.

The Community is still in the establishment stage, and resources in the community are also being launched. The purpose of the Community is to attract people who love hadoop, mahout, data mining, and machine learning algorithms based on the development resources (clusters and data) provided by Baidu.
