Mingle has been used for more than half a year. From the first version of 1.0 to the current version of 2.0, mingle has undergone great changes, in the form of better availability and customization. As a BA, I will deal with mingle almost all day long. After summing up my experiences, it is my best practice to use mingle.
1. Quickly open a card. Be sure to use Firefox as your default browser. In this way, you can use the "tag variable" function provided by Firefox to quickly open a card. Method: a) open a card and place its URL in your bookmarks; B) Right-click bookmarks and select "attribute". In the location column, replace the last card number with % S, C) in the keyword column, fill in your project abbreviation, such as CC. If you enter "cc 123" in the address bar of Firefox, it will open the 123 card.
2. Use a specific wiki page (Special: headeractions) to place the added card feature on the page header. Add frequently-used links on this Wiki page, such as "+ request", "+ story", and "+ bug. Once you want to add these items, you can directly click these links.
3. Define templates for various types of cards. Mingle supports defining templates, so you can define templates for your story, request, bug, and other types of cards and specify their default attributes. In this way, when you add these cards, you do not need to set attributes one by one. The fixed text in the card content does not need to be repeated. In addition, everyone in the team will see this template. Anyone who adds content knows what to write.
4. Set a date creation attribute for the card and the date type. In this way, you can set its default value to "today ". In this way, mingle automatically records the creation date of the card. It is advantageous to recall when this card will be added one day in the future.
5. Use date attribute and transition to automatically record the change process, which is very useful for projects with fixed iteration duration. For example, define a transition from in Dev to Dev completed and set an attribute named "Development completion time". Its type is date type and its change value is "today ". In this way, when a developer uploads a story from in Dev to "Dev completed" on story wall, mingle automatically sets the date. In this way, the story statistics of each iteration can be easily obtained through the reporting function of mingle.
There are also some other tricks that I will not talk about.
