Open Beyond Compare software, select a folder comparison session, open the session operator interface, click the Browse Folder button, select the folder you want to compare, as shown in the following figure, compare the folders in the Conversation View pane in an ordered arrangement, but do not automatically expand subfolders and files, how should you set it?

Step One: Click the toolbar Session button, select the Session Settings tab in the expanded menu, open the folder comparison-session Settings window, and switch to the Processing tab page.

Step two: In the folder Processing section, check the "expand subfolders when loading Sessions" checkbox, you can also check the "expand only subfolders with differences" checkbox, depending on your personal comparison folder requirements.

If you also want to automatically expand subfolders and files each time you load a session by using the Beyond Compare software comparison folder, select the "Update Session Defaults" tab at the bottom of the page.

Step three: After the manual setup is complete, you can load the folders you want to compare again, where the comparison folder contains the subfolders and files that will automatically expand, as shown in the following illustration.
