Mobile Data Communication combines mobile communication with the Internet, making it a reality for mobile phones to access the Internet and work in the mobile status. In fact, mobile data communication has developed since the end of 1980s and the beginning of 1990s. It can be divided into circuit switching and group switching, which can be achieved on both analog cellular networks and digital cellular networks. Due to technical and market restrictions, the above mobile data development speed is far slower than that of mobile phones. However, with the widespread use of G technology and the arrival of the 3G era, the communication speed has been greatly improved, and mobile data communication has been greatly developed. The huge investment in 3G construction needs to be withdrawn from data services, and the wide range of Internet services and content may be used for reference and transplanted to 3G networks, although the Internet has rich content, it is difficult to manage and charge, and there is a lack of rich and healthy business models. Mobile Communication Networks can carry Internet services and facilitate management and billing, which is the gospel of the Internet camp.

2.5-Generation Mobile Communication

The 2.5 generation is a technology between the second generation and the third generation. GPRS (Universal grouping wireless service) is called the 2.5 generation in the industry. GPRS solves the bandwidth bottleneck of mobile Internet access and is implemented on the basis of the existing mobile communication network. It does not need to abandon the existing GSM network to "Create a new stove ", therefore, it is recognized as a reasonable solution for the 3G transition. GPRS combines multiple channels to increase the bandwidth of data transmission and enables many users to share channel resources through group switching. Therefore, in theory, the transmission rate of GPRS can reach 170 kbps, much higher than 56 kbps of fixed-line Internet access, but due to network configuration and mobile phone reasons, the current speed is generally 20-30 kbps.

The same as GPRS, CDMA 1X belongs to the same 2G mobile communication network and is mainly set up to provide grouped data services. The upgraded version 1x of CDMA 1X to 3g has been accepted by ITU as an international standard. evdo is a wireless technology designed completely for grouped data services, the peak rate within a 2.4 MHz bandwidth is Mbit/s, which has reached the ITU's three-generation system rate requirements. When evdo technology is used, the group data service still uses the group domain devices (pdsn and PCF) for processing, and no more network units need to be added. Because evdo is involved in RF and CDMA
1x/is-95 is identical, so you only need to update the corresponding channel board in the original CDMA 1X base station and then upgrade the software.

In grouped data services, all mobile users share wireless resources, and each user dynamically applies for and occupies wireless resources only when business data is transmitted, therefore, group data can be used to "always online ". For example, if the peak rate of GPRS is 115.2 kbit/s and the peak rate of CDMA 1X is 153.6 kbit/s, the grouped data service is more suitable for mobile Internet businesses. On the other hand, because multiple mobile users share certain wireless resources under the grouping service, even though the grouping service can have a high peak business rate, however, the average service rate during data transmission is still low, and the ratio of the average service rate to the peak service rate is also an important indicator to measure system technology. From the reality, the average service rate of GPRS can reach 20 kbit/s-40kbit/s, the average service rate of CDMA 1X is 70 kbit/s-80kbit/s. In comparison, the CDMA 2000 1x technology is more efficient than the GPRS technology.

3G Mobile Communication

3G stands for English 3rd
Generation stands for the third generation mobile communication technology. Since its launch, mobile phones have gone through the first generation of analog-standard mobile phones (1G) and the second generation of GSM, TDMA and other digital mobile phones (2g ), currently, 3G is a new-generation mobile communication system that combines wireless communication with multimedia communications such as the Internet. A prominent feature of the third-generation mobile communication system is that in the future mobile communication system, individual end users must be able to communicate with anyone at any time, anywhere around the world, the mobile communication and transmission between any information in any way and with high quality highlights the main position of an individual in the communication system, so it is also called the future personal communication system.

In addition to later WiMAX, the 3G mainly had 3 medium technical standards, WCDMA, CDMA 2000 evdo and TD-SCDMA (Figure 1-3 3G standard Evolution Routes ). WCDMA is a 3G Technical Specification developed by the GSM network and can be deployed on the existing GSM network. The CDMA 2000 is derived from the digital standard of the narrow-frequency cdma 2000 1x, and can be derived from the original cdma 2000
The 1x structure is directly upgraded to 3 GB, and the construction cost is low. TD-SCDMA technology, though proposed by Chinese companies, is an uncompromising 3G international standard and has undergone rigorous technical review by ITU, confirming that it can provide all 3G services and services. TD-SCDMA commercial products also have HSDPA data rate, can meet the data business rate needs, is a kind of based on CDMA, excellent solutions that combine advanced technologies such as smart antennas, software radios, and high-quality voice compression coding. A major feature of TD-SCDMA technology is the introduction of SMAP synchronous access signaling, in the use of CDMA technology can reduce a lot of interference, and the use of intelligent antenna technology. Another major feature is that during the cellular system application, the over-the-zone switchover uses the specified switching method. Each base station has the positioning function for the mobile station, so as to know the exact location of each mobile station in the residential area, the synchronization base station can be identified at any time.

In addition, market-driven is another key factor. The demand for mobility and information has risen sharply. More and more people want to access the Internet at a high speed during the mobile process to obtain urgently needed information and accomplish what they want to do. Therefore, it is inevitable for people to change their enthusiasm from simple mobile data to mobile Internet.

In 2007, the development of China Mobile's Internet market was accelerating. According to CNNIC statistics, by June 2007, mobile internet users reached 43 million,
The year-on-year growth rate was 240% times. In the same period, the number of Internet users reached 0.162 billion, an increase of 32% per year. The number of WAP sites exceeds 65 thousand, the number of MoBi domain names registered,
China ranks second in the world. Morgan Stanley expects China to become the leader in the future of mobile Internet. China Mobile Operator is an important driving force for the development of mobile Internet,
China Mobile has taken a series of initiatives, such as participating in Phoenix TV, obtaining an advertisement license, developing a wireless music service platform, opening up the fetion business, and launching a series of mobile value-added applications,
Both promote the level of mobile Internet application services.

I-mode is a typical case for telecom operators to succeed using the mobile Internet model. I-mode is a mobile Internet model launched by Japanese company NTT DoCoMo, which has made remarkable achievements. Since the launch of I-mode in February 1999, Japan has become the world's fastest growing mobile Internet market. According to a number published by NTT DoCoMo on December 31, March 5, 2001, the company launched more than March 4, 2001 registered users of the mobile phone Internet service "I-mode" in 20 million and achieved great success, the success of I-mode makes 3G the most important cornerstone for commercial use. In the first month of 3g foma, the number of contracted users soared to 11 thousand.
