CCNA Study Notes (ii)--Initial knowledge of Cisco devices
In the previous chapter we recognized the fundamentals of networking, and now we are formally exposed to Cisco devices.
1, first we first understand the main components of a Cisco device:
ROM (read-only memory): mainly save the post software, save the router boot boot program.
RAM (random memory): loss of data, can store configuration files. >>> equivalent to PC memory
NVRAM (non-volatile memory): power loss is not lost, used to save user profiles, IP, Startup-config, hostname, routing protocol, and so on.
Flash (Flash): The main is to save the full IOS .>>> equivalent to the PC's hard disk
CPU: The brain comes, this is needless to say, hehe.
mother Broad: back panel
Interfaces: various physical interfaces.

The most basic component of a Cisco device above (only to find this diagram, look at the back of the device)
650) this.width=650; "Width=" 718 "height=" 246 "title=" 1.png "style=" WIDTH:718PX;HEIGHT:246PX; "alt=" Wkiol1rnttgxumtlaafjqyb3qfs380.jpg "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/53/6F/ Wkiol1rnttgxumtlaafjqyb3qfs380.jpg "border=" 0 "vspace=" 0 "hspace=" 0 "/>
Knowing that there are probably those components, we are going to boot up, first look at the Cisco device boot, it's startup process.
2. CISCO Device startup process:
The Cisco device is similar to our usual PC start-up process, except that it has a minirom that installs a mini ISO bar, which is not difficult to understand.
The approximate process is: Power on >>> perform BOOTSTARP hardware detection >>> Locate the iso>> in Flash to load user profiles in NVRAM >>> Enter User Configuration mode.
Detailed procedures such as:
650) this.width=650; "Width=" 718 "height=" 520 "title=" 3.png "style=" width:718px;height:520px; "src="/HTTP/ S3.51cto.com/wyfs02/m00/53/73/wkiom1rneihc6hffaag1llrpjjy578.jpg "border=" 0 "vspace=" 0 "hspace=" 0 "alt=" Wkiom1rneihc6hffaag1llrpjjy578.jpg "/>
From power on, we are officially in contact with Cisco, below we formally enter the understanding of Cisco marching.
3. Let's say a few tools to connect Cisco:
CRT, HyperTerminal console line direct Connect, Telnet
Because the Super Terminal console line is directly connected to the device (what must be done at the first match), CRT & Telnet are often used by us.
Since WIN7 has canceled the HyperTerminal tool, we use WIN7 to download and install the user's own

4. Number distribution of Cisco devices:
Router: The port distribution is from bottom to top >>> right to left and the numbering is starting from 0.
Switch: The port distribution is from top to bottom >>> left to right starting with the numbering is starting from 1.
5. Several modes of Cisco devices:
User mode: The symbol is ">". The default permissions are: 1
Privileged mode: The sign is a "#" symbol. The default permissions are: 15
Global mode: Flag as "(config) #"
Specific mode: In addition to the above several modes of configuration mode.
User mode and privileged mode are mainly used to view related information and monitor the network. The network configuration is all configured in global mode.
650) this.width=650; "title=" 4.png "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/53/71/wKioL1RnhXyS40WHAADyP_9sYRM411.jpg " alt= "Wkiol1rnhxys40whaadyp_9syrm411.jpg"/>
From the above we can see the links between various modes:
Power on, press ENTER after, direct access: User mode >
In the case of user mode, enter: Enable+ enter directly into privileged mode #
In the case of privileged mode, enter: Configure terminal directly into the global mode
Exit: In the case of various modes, when you enter exit, the previous mode is returned step-by-step.
END: Returns directly from the current mode to the privileged mode (regardless of the current mode).
650) this.width=650; "title=" 5.png "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/53/73/wKiom1RniVCzeX1fAAFgm7dzYMM180.jpg " alt= "Wkiom1rnivczex1faafgm7dzymm180.jpg"/>
6. Operation of the Cisco Command Line (CLI):
A, the command line shortcut keys:
Exit: Returns from the top level to the previous level.
End: Returns directly from the current mode to the special mode.
CTRL + Z: Returns directly from the current mode to privileged mode.
Ctrl+u: Deletes all commands for the current line.
CTRL +C: Interrupts the currently executing configuration command, returning the current mode.
Table: Command Completion (this is our most used)
(Up, down, left, right) arrow keys: Roll back the previously used commands.
? : Help (Note: If you are directly behind the command?) is to directly find the command with the same part of the current English, if it is after the command + space +? is to find the configuration command after the current command)
650) this.width=650; "title=" 6.png "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/53/71/wKioL1RnkreAlikzAAD8EJ4TdO8908.jpg " alt= "Wkiol1rnkrealikzaad8ej4tdo8908.jpg"/>
B, the format of the Cisco command:
650) this.width=650; "title=" 8.png "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/53/73/wKiom1RnlQaQounJAABuq5rivSo530.jpg " alt= "Wkiom1rnlqaqounjaabuq5rivso530.jpg"/>
Note: Most configurations are configured in global mode and only a handful of commands (when VLAN is configured) are in privileged mode.
C, common configuration:
1. Show (usually in privileged mode)
650) this.width=650; "title=" 7.png "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/53/73/wKiom1RnlFqR-tM-AAFQRu7ikxs112.jpg " alt= "Wkiom1rnlfqr-tm-aafqru7ikxs112.jpg"/>
2, hostname (global mode):
650) this.width=650; "title=" 9.png "src=" Http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M01/53/71/wKioL1RnmGSSwug9AAChe34LcBQ699.jpg " alt= "Wkiol1rnmgsswug9aache34lcbq699.jpg"/>
3. Set Password (Enable Password/enable secret)
650) this.width=650; "title=" 10.png "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M02/53/73/wKioL1Rnm5LSZNW8AADSJCxIg7Y853.jpg "alt=" Wkiol1rnm5lsznw8aadsjcxig7y853.jpg "/>
Note: If both the encrypted password and the plaintext password are set, it will all be displayed with an encrypted password (the plaintext will automatically be encrypted)
4. Console configuration: (line console 0)
650) this.width=650; "title=" 11.png "src=" http://s3.51cto.com/wyfs02/M00/53/75/wKiom1Rnm62DPStAAAD_1OFFgd4322.jpg "alt=" Wkiom1rnm62dpstaaad_1offgd4322.jpg "/>
5, vty password: (line vty 0 4)
