CentOS installs software very conveniently using Yum, and Yum automatically installs dependencies on the software. But the source repositories that CentOS comes from are relatively old and not so full, so we can add third-party repositories and install newer versions of the software.
Epel is a repository maintained by the Fedora community with more than 10,000 software, and CentOS can install the Epel warehouse using yum install Epel-release, after installation to/etc/yum.repos.d/ Epel.repo, open enabled=1.
Install Remi Warehouse, RPM-IVH http://rpms.famillecollet.com/enterprise/remi-release-6.rpm, after installation to/etc/yum.repos.d/ Remi.repo, open enabled=1.
There's a newer PHP in Remi.
Install the Elrepo warehouse and upgrade to the 3.1.0 kernel using its installation kernel-lt
CENTOS6 using Commands Rpm-uvh http://www.elrepo.org/elrepo-release-6-6.el6.elrepo.noarch.rpm
View warehouse list using Yum repolist
Installation use can use the specified warehouse installation software--enablerepo= warehouse name
Install the 3.1.0 kernel, yum --enablerepo=elrepo-kernel install kernel-lt
Modify GRUB configuration,/boot/grub/grub.conf, modify default=? Change the kernel number to start, then reboot, use Uname-a to view the kernel
