We suffer because we lose connection with ourselves, and we often lose connection with our own pain. If we suffer because we are moving towards truth, then this pain is dignity. Dignity refers to the emphasis on the truth, even if the truth contains pain.
Student: There is a class in the school that explores the relationship between suffering and dignity. It seems to imply that suffering is a matter of dignity. I don't know what you think of it.
What is the relationship between nobility and suffering? Let's take a look. We should observe everything from the perspective of ontology. The most important thing is to recognize and cherish our true nature. Therefore, when we discuss any subject, such as dignity and suffering, self-esteem, humility, and courage, we will always have to consider from the ontology. If we only look at these topics from the perspective of superego or personality, things will become very complicated. We will never find the answer, because there is no answer from the perspective of personality. However, from the perspective of ontology, things seem simple and clear. Only the fundamental reality can help us understand what we are doing here.
Let's look at the relationship between dignity and suffering from this perspective to see what answers will be given. I believe that dignity can be achieved only when the entity exists and acts on its own. But first, let's look at what the so-called dignity is. What are the meanings of these two words? What do you think of dignity?
Student: King.
Thomas: King. What else?
Student: elegant.
Thomas: elegant. What else?
Student: It is inherent.
Thomas: inherent. Yes.
Student: clear judgment. The nobles govern the whole country and establish laws, so they should have this ability.
Student: courage.
Students: they should have better education.
Thomas: better education? So in our mind, dignity seems to be linked to the actions of the nobility and the nobility. It is usually related to the nobles such as the King, the Queen, the princess, and the prince. I think this is a good way to review it. There is a story related to ontology called "the son of the king", which is from tales of the dervishes, written by idries Shah ). What it wants to tell us is that every life is a nobility.
From the perspective of the ontology, dignity means to live and show the truth of the ontology. To be a person living in truth, a person with real dignity will not be shaken by political or social pressure. From this point of view, live dignity is not shaken by your superego (the part that constantly criticizes you) or the superego of others. You act in accordance with the truth.
There may be a pain in this way of life. We will discuss this issue later. What we need to recognize at present is that if pain is beneficial to the ontology and is part of seeing truth and acting in accordance with truth, then this suffering is precious. But if your pain comes from the needs and expectations of the super-ego, or any resistance to the truth, then this pain is not noble, but humble. Let's look at what humble pains are from the perspective of ontology. As long as you lose the connection with the ontology or keep searching for non-ontology from the outside, the pain will always rise. Assume that you cherish something-such as your car, fitness, money, job, parents, girlfriends, children, wives, or husbands-more than something real inside, you will suffer. This kind of outward pursuit will unconsciously hurt you and your heart. This does not mean that external life or human desires are opposed to our internal work. Like anything, they should also be respected and understood, but if they are more important than the ontology, we will feel pain, frustration and anger in our hearts.
Understanding this is very important, but it is not easy to look at things in this way. When we start to work on ourselves, we don't want to do this for the sake of Ontology. We actually want to get something -- more beautiful, more caring, and more spiritual, let others like us better. You may think that if you develop your ontology, you will get a better partner and have more money. From this point of view, who is the creator? Who is acting? It is not your ontology, but your unconscious, so it will bring pain without knowing it. This kind of mentality itself is a kind of lack, and lack has always been a painful mentality. Therefore, the body is unable to compress and hurt. It will lose its joy and happiness.
I am not referring to anything except the ontology. If this is what I want to say, we are likely to run into the desert to become a monk or a nun, wearing a white robe, with a long string of beads around our neck. That's not what I mean. I mean, ontology should be the most important consideration in our life, and other things are the second, and they should be beneficial to the ontology. You must do something in your life that can support and enhance your ontology. Everything can be done. This is the most important principle, the source of morality and legitimate behavior, and the principle of living a solemn life. Sometimes people who live in this way seem very painful, because they are not pursuing satisfaction like most people. In fact, if someone really follows this way of life, the satisfaction and joy he receives will not be able to experience by his personality.
Only by following the ontology can we love life and things in life.
Most people will say that they want to live well, they want to live happily, and enjoy life well, but they are pursuing false satisfaction that only increases the pain. If a person really wants to be happy, he must act in the right way-that is, putting the importance of ontology above everything. If you do this, you will naturally be happy. If you cannot, you will not be happy. That's simple. Suppose you are still saying, "My boyfriend is the most important thing in my life, and I will do my best not to lose him." Then you will pay more attention to him than your ontology, in this way, you will inevitably suffer. Even if you are in bed with him for 24 hours, even if he loves you, you will still suffer. If this is your highest desire, you will suffer, you may not even be able to correctly enjoy it, and your heart will be closed out of yourself, in this way, you will naturally fear losing him. The truth is this simple: if you go in that direction, you may go to hell; if you go in the direction of ontology, you will go to heaven. Most people who want to enter heaven often choose the path to hell. When they got there, they found that the taste of "Heaven" was not good.
Many of us do not believe that putting everything above the body will cause pain. We may try to change this fact or bypass it. In the end, you will find that the situation is the same. This is the law of nature, just as rain is the fundamental law of falling down. We may try to cheat this natural law and convince ourselves that we live for the purpose of the body, but in fact we are not actually motivated. However, the ontology will not be fooled by you.
One of the reasons we don't want to see this fact is that we often think that if we live based on the truth of our own body, we may lose everything we are obsessed. We are used to looking at life through external things, thinking that if we don't rely on this pattern, we will lose everything. This is not the case. If all your actions, desires, and orientations of life are attached to the truth of the ontology, you will get what you really want. You may still be famous, rich, sexy, and have a family or career. You will really enjoy them because of the fulfillment of the ontology, and you will not blindly want more, but are afraid to lose everything. There is no conflict between living in the ontology and getting what you want. In fact, we can love our lives and things in our lives only if we can live based on the ontology. But if we look at external things more important than the ontology, we will close the part that can enjoy these things. That part is the core of joy. We call it "the heart of gold" or "the brilliant sun ". Once we develop towards the ontology, this core of joy will become splendid. If it goes in another direction, it will sink. The truth is that simple.
The beauty of reality cannot be understood at all
This does not mean that our hearts should feel uneasy if they do not develop towards the ontology. Instead, this attitude will make our hearts more closed. We only need to recognize how we deviate from ourselves. We will see what separates us from the truth, and we will find that we unconsciously think that another thing is truly effective. Then we will understand the truth of another belief and recognize why we believe it. Once you have a thorough understanding, you do not need to do anything. We don't need to spur ourselves too much. We just need to recognize and understand why we cannot reconcile ourselves with truth. The deeper you understand, the more you can integrate into the truth, the more you can feel joy, happiness, love, and satisfaction.
As long as they are in harmony with the truth, they will naturally feel deeply satisfied. Most people do not understand this. They think they must get this or that to get love, happiness, and satisfaction. People always want to have an appropriate body, a suitable lover, and a desirable house. Once you discover that you can also experience the ontology, these things will become insignificant and nothing will happen. Attaching more importance to these things than the ontology is a kind of demotion to life. If we can reconcile with the truth, we will naturally get beauty, dignity, perfection, pleasure, and love. The more you can discover your own ontology, the more you can recognize the things you wanted before. When you step into the ontology, you enter the cosmic surface of the reality. The beauty, perfection, and possibility of the solution are beyond human imagination. The mind cannot understand it at all.
If you have realized the ontology of personal nature, you can bring this perfection into your life. Then everything in your life-your work, your career, and the relationship between you and your lover and your children-will be full of ontology. You will no longer look for an alternative to the ontology, but will focus on proving the ontology in your life. This is why we have come to this world. We are not here to suffer. We are not here to work or raise children, but to fully develop our potential and learn to be a real person. Few people know what it is like to be a complete and mature person.
Satisfying an unconscious desire is totally different from the fulfillment of experience to ontology. Unconsciously, we always think that our inner satisfaction is related to what others give us, how we think about us, or how we feel. The unconscious seldom focuses on the existence itself. It often focuses on the desires, expectations, projections, and memories of the heart.
If we look at the deepest layer in our hearts, what exactly is there? Actually exist or exist. Existence and existence are not the focus of the unconscious or self-attention, but the ontology knows what it is. The ontology knows what is true. When you feel happy, that happiness has nothing to do with what others think you are or what you think you are, it has nothing to do with your good, bad, big, small, beautiful, ugly, smart, or stupid. If you are happy, happy, valuable, and simple. Your existence is unconditional.
On the other hand, we unconsciously think that something must happen to get a sense: "If you love me, I will be very happy. If you don't love me, I will be miserable ". Everything is conditional. If happiness comes from the ontology, the situation will be different. If you love me, I will have a kind of happiness; if you do not love me, I have another kind of happiness.
It is a pleasure to study in a room alone. Having sex with a woman is another pleasure. When I fell asleep, I neither thought of books nor women. This is another pleasure. I still feel happy at work. All of this is wonderful.
The fulfillment of the ontology will make you realize that what you cherish in the past does not matter.
Living with dignity and following the truth will naturally bring you to this realm. But you must put down what you hold on to-everything you own, everything you believe in, everything you hold on to yourself and others, and all your feelings. If you cannot do this, you will lose yourself with concepts, desires, and various confusions. To see the truth, you must put it all down willingly. When you enter a deeper realm, in order to see the truth, you must even put down your attachment to your body and enjoy yourself. You must put them down so that the ontology can be filled with you.
From this discussion, we will find that in order to live out the ontology, we must sacrifice to some extent, and the sacrifice that places the truth above all things may indeed involve some kind of pain. This is another relationship between dignity and suffering, but what really happens is that the pain is revealed. Dignity involves bearing the truth. At work, people sometimes experience intense pain and pain. Because the lies of personality are exposed, you finally see the long-standing pain, but it does not mean that the pain itself is dignified or beneficial to internal work. We suffer because we lose connection with ourselves, and we often lose connection with our own pain. If we suffer because we are moving in the direction of truth, then this pain is dignified. Dignity refers to the emphasis on the truth, even if the truth contains pain. We naturally have dignity if we can focus more on truth than distracting entertainment, and if we attempt to replace the external value of the ontology. Therefore, dignity may involve some kind of pain, but once you step towards the truth, the fulfillment and joy of the ontology will make you recognize that what you cherish in the past is irrelevant.
We are deeply limited to nourish and enjoy ourselves from the outside. This is one of our deepest limitations. Does anyone know what the first limitation we are facing? What are the first limits that enable us to get satisfaction from the outside?
Student: nourishing?
Thomas: What is your so-called "nourishing?
Students: even during the fetal period, all the food we get comes from the outside.
Thomas: Not bad. In the fetal stage, we rely entirely on the external. We even have to rely on the umbilical cord to feed us. The situation that relies entirely on the outside will last for many years. This memory is already deep in our mind and body, so we will continue to follow that limitation. We still act like a fetus. That limitation is too deep, because it is buried when you don't know who you are. It is already buried in your cells and your bone marrow, but it can still be revealed and understood.
Therefore, you have two options: continue with the fetus or become an adult. On this earth, few people can be called adults. Adults are awesome, and we all have the opportunity to become adults. However, the fetus does not need to stay in the fetal period. It can develop. Most of the time we live not like a fetus, but we think like a fetus. We think we are a fetus, and our behavior looks like all our love and nourishment must be taken from the outside. Our fetal heart must grow, and we must observe when our behavior is like a fetus and when it is like an adult.
Of course, there is nothing wrong with getting something from the outside, but you can really integrate yourself. We are not moral criticism or resistance to being a fetus. This is just a restriction that must be crossed. If we are stuck in this state, it will cause great pain.
From the ultimate point of view, the pain of honor is to abandon the unconscious, so that the human body can wear the holy robe of peace and sit on the throne of truth.
