Client configuration for connecting to Informix Using PB

The previous article describes how to install the client under SCO. The following describes how to configure the client to connect to Informix by Pb.

Software Environment

Server

(1) SCO

(2) Informix

Client

(1) informixcli Client

(2) pb6.5

Prerequisites: Informix has been installed successfully!

The informixdir/etc/sqlhosts and/etc/services files are configured.

Specific Configurations in ilogin Demo:

(1) Add a line to the C:/Windows/system32/Drivers/etc/hosts file
10.1.200.29 ifx_ip # address alias

(2) Add a line to the C:/Windows/system32/Drivers/etc/services file
Myexec 9999/tcp # service name

(3) configure the following in the ilogin demo of Informix CONNECT:
Server ids940 # an instance in the database
Hostname ifx_ip # Above Configuration
Servicename myexec # configuration above
Username Informix # UNIX Username
Password Informix # UNIX User Password
Stores database ctjnls # Name of the database on the UNIX Server

If the above configuration is successfully tested, the configuration in Pb is the same as above.
