Based on the practices in the past few days, we have found an Optimal Configuration:
1. The SIP server uses trixbox. If you are familiar with Linux, we recommend that you use asterisk directly.
2 If the client is used directly, it is recommended that ekiga.
By the way, how do I feel when using several clients:
1 Linphone: It seems to be well known. However, the latest version 3.1.2 crashes after being installed. I installed a general XP-SP3, computer company special edition. Generally, the software runs normally. If it crashes on this platform, I really don't know what to say.
Later, try again 3.1.1. This can be started and you can see the video image. The strange thing is that the video window connected to the video phone is hidden. End the call and display it again. I don't know what its video function is. In addition, only qcif is supported for displaying local videos.
2 eyebeam. If the video is started, only the first frame of the image is displayed, and the camera does not rotate. In addition, the video function cannot be enabled when you actively connect to the video phone. The video phone calls it to start. After the video is started, click "Start video" and it becomes useless.
3. wengo is good. Now the name is quate. It connects to the camera very quickly and the local preview is normal. However, if there is a problem with decoding, we can see a bunch of green blocks. I don't know if it can't solve the code, or if I want to get a few color blocks over there, it's a lie.
4 Yate does not seem to support videos, but the sound is good.
5. Later, I continued to use the above software and thought that I had a problem with the video phone hardware. However, after connecting with ekiga, the videos on both sides were normal.
The above is evaluated from the video effect perspective. If you do not use videos, they are similar.
