Construction of a short distance lab platform for small-sized inter-network Networks

At present, with the pace of network product updates accelerating, a considerable number of enterprises and institutions have eliminated and redundant network devices. It would be a pity to discard or discard them. At this time, it is a good idea for network administrators to use them to build a small online lab platform. In addition, there are many training courses, and we also need to build an online lab platform for students of the Learning Network to practice. The following steps allow you to build an experimental platform as quickly as possible.

　　Required devices:

1. 1 PC (with Nic), 1 Cisco Catalyst 1900 switch, and 2 Cisco 2500 routers for configuration management workstation;

2. One back-to-back cable (one end is marked as DTE and the other end is marked as DCE, which is used to directly connect the serial ports of the two routers ), one route from AUI to RJ45 (used to connect the Ethernet port of the Cisco 2500 router and the Cisco Catalyst 1900 switch port ), RJ45 to comport configuration line (used to connect the Console port of the Cisco 2500 router and the COM1 port of the management workstation ), RJ45 connects one (the NIC port used to connect the management workstation and the Cisco Catalyst 1900 switch port ).

　　Device description:

Cisco 2500 vro: an interface labeled AUI on a vro is used to connect to an Ethernet switch. There are two AUI interfaces in total. Therefore, a Cisco 2500 vro can directly connect two Ethernet segments (LAN ), during configuration, these two ports are called e0 and e1 respectively. Interfaces marked as Serial are used to directly connect to other routers. There are two Serial interfaces in total, therefore, a Cisco 2500 router can connect two Wan segments. During configuration, these two ports are called s0 and s1 respectively. The interfaces marked as Console are used to connect the serial port (comport) of the management workstation ), this port is used when you configure the vro for the first time, that is, you must configure the vro for the first time through the management workstation.
