Create a new template in a Word2010 document

WORD2010 allows users to create custom Word templates to fit the actual work needs. Users can save a custom Word template in the My Templates folder for use at any time. In Windows XP systems, the My Templates folder directory is c:documents and Settingsadministratorapplication datamicrosofttemplates, while in Windows In the Vista or Windows7 system, the "My Templates" folder directory is usersadministratorappdataroamingmicrosofttemplates. To find the folder above, you must allow hidden files and folders to be displayed in the current system.

For example, in a Windows 7 system, the steps for creating a new template in a Word2010 document are as follows:

Step 1th, open the Word2010 document window, and design the elements required by the custom template in the current document, such as text, pictures, styles, and so on.

Step 2nd, after you finish designing the template, click the Save button on the Quick Access Toolbar. Open the Save As dialog box, select Save location as the Usersadministratorappdataroamingmicrosofttemplates folder, and then click the Save as Type Drop-down triangle button and select the Word template option in the Drop-down list. Enter the name of the template in the File name edit box and click the Save button, as shown in Figure 1.

Step 3rd, click the file → new button, and in the Open New Document dialog box, select the My Templates option, as shown in Figure 2.

Step 4th Opens the New dialog box, where you can see the new custom template in the template list. Select the template and click the OK button to create a new document, as shown in Figure 3.
