Introduction:

Customers, such as the desktop of a PC, service requests from the server. This lab course environment, using real PC and server, supports a comprehensive range of services. In a simulated environment, the number of servers is limited. Packet Tracer allows the emulation of additional network services to support Dhcp,dns,http and TFTP. Packet Tracer also supports the emulation of additional PCs in order to be able to request those services. This activity uses a single network, including a PC computer to connect and immediately configure services to support DNS servers and host Web pages. This activity will record the flow of traffic, when a page is requested, the IP address of the page is the requested party and the page will be transmitted.

Task 1: Organize and run the simulation software

Step One: Enter the simulation mode

When packet Tracer starts, it introduces a logical view of the network in time mode. At the far right of the yellow box at the bottom of the logical factory is the mode toggle key of the actual time, and if the current mode is the actual time mode, click on the right side of the selection box, and nine shifts the working mode from actual time mode to analog mode.

Step Two: Create an event List filter

In analog mode, the system defaults support capturing of all events. By packet Tracer, you can limit what events are captured through the Environment Event List filter. We just want to capture the DNS and HTTP events. In the Event List Filter section, click the Edit Filter button. A list of existing events is displayed and you can select any of them. Click on the bottom right of the simulation reset, the event list of all the events captured will be cleared. To temporarily hide the list of events, click the Event List button at the bottom right to display a list of hidden events.

Step three: Web requests from the PC

Packet Tracer provides analog services on the device, you will open the analog web browsing on your PC and request a Web page from the server.

Click on the PC in the logical factory, click on the Desktop tab and click the Web Browser button. Open a mock web browser, type www.example.com carriage return, and then minimize the emulated browser window.

Step four: Run the simulation environment

In the Analog Panel control mode section, click the Auto Play button. Observe events between the PC and the server, and events added to the events list. These represent the requests and decisions of the PC. If a roundtrip PDU packet has a check mark on the envelope after it arrives on the PC, the requested packet is received.

Task 2: Check the results

Step One: detailed access to the PDU

Restores the emulated browsing window. Notice where the Web page is displayed. Minimize the simulation window.

In the Mock Panel Event List section, the last line contains a colored box that provides access to details about the event. Click on the Colored box as the first event. Check the PDU details.

Step Two: Check the PDU data directory

The PDU Information window contains detailed information about the data exchanged between devices, including data protocol format, bit flow and so on. is a reference to the inspection work.

In the PDU Data window there are many problems related to the OSI Interconnection Reference Model, which will help users to understand the work of the OSI layer more deeply.
