Address automatic configuration

IPV6 has enough global addresses, in addition IPV6 implements a mechanism called stateless address autoconfiguration, where any node can automatically generate a global address based on the prefix information of the current link and its own network interface information. IPV6 's address autoconfiguration mechanism makes it easy for mobile nodes to get the referral address without the need for human involvement.

Neighbor found

In the neighbor discovery, the router should broadcast its prefix information periodically, and the mobile node can quickly determine whether it has moved or not by the prefix information, and the forwarding address is automatically configured via the address.

Security mechanisms

IPV6 built-in security and has been standardized to support seamless remote access to the enterprise network. In terms of security, IPV6 is consistent with IP security (IPSEC) mechanisms and services. In addition to the mandatory mechanism that must provide network layer security, IPSec provides two kinds of services. The Authentication header (authentication header, AH) is used to ensure the consistency of the data and can be used for authentication, while the encapsulated security Payload header (Encapsulation Payload header, ESP) Used to guarantee the confidentiality of data and the consistency of data. At the same time, because of the new features of IPV6, it is also possible to design security mechanisms for mobile IPv6.

Black hole Detection

The mobile detection mechanism in mobile IPV6 provides a two-way reachable acknowledgement mechanism between the mobile node and its current router, that is, the mobile node can always know whether the current router continues to be reachable, and the router can know whether the node continues to reach. If the mobile node detects that the current router is no longer available, it will request another router. Mobile IPV4 only provides a "forward" reachable detection mechanism, that is, the router can always confirm that the mobile node continues to be reachable, but the moving node does not detect whether the router continues to reach.

Routing headers

The routing header is defined in IPv6, and the header specifies the address of the node that the packet should pass through from the source node to the destination node. Most packets sent to the mobile node use the routing header, the destination address of the packet is the forwarding address of the mobile node, and contains a routing header, and the next line of the routing header is the home address of the mobile node.

Dynamic home proxy address discovery mechanism

In IPv6, an address called "anycast" is defined, and it is also an address group where all the machines in the address group receive packets sent to this "anycast" address, but only one machine responds to the packet. Mobile node on the home link all routers are configured as "Mobile-ipv6 anycast address", mobile node to the "Home Agent URL Discovery request" message to this "Mobile-ipv6 anycast addresses", All of the home agents received this message, but only one of the home agents responded.

The realization of transparency

The movement of nodes is transparent to the applications on both the mobile node and the communication node.
