I have read many reports about the Longhorn display system recently, knowing that Longhorn's WGD (Windows Graphics Foundation) 1.0 will use DirectX 9.0c as the main interface. However, longhorn will also build the next generation of 3D APIs. You can think of it as DirectX 10, but it is called WFG 2.0.
Lddm (an important feature of Longhorn display driver model and Longhorn, which can be installed without restarting) will be released in two phases. The first stage is the initial stage, and the current display is supported: Shader Model 2.0/3.0; the second stage is the advanced stage, which will support hardware features released at the same time or later with longhorn, however, it will work with new functions in WGF 2.0.
Therefore, to experience the Game On Longhorn, your graphics card and memory are especially important.
Minimum requirements:
1.6 GHz processor (even 0.1g lower than the cost, I don't know if it can be integrated)
512 MB memory (the only exclusive project! -- But this is only the "minimum requirement ")
64 MB video card (not even integrated ......)
7200 RPM hard drive 16 MB cache (7200, my old master desktop is still integrated, but this 16 MB cache cannot be pulled)
Perfect experience:
4 GHz processor (a bit high, but acceptable, especially after reading the following)
3 GB memory (a little big, really, not all the memory used in My Life)
1 GB graphics card with WFG 2.0 support (no comment ......)
15000 rpm HD 1 GB flash memory (are there any mistakes? The memory I added up on both machines does not meet the cache requirements ...... Whining ......)
What do you think of this configuration? Don't worry. There is more than a year of preparation time ......
