Independent main lattice structure
The independent main lattice structure consists of nouns or pronouns plus other components (participle, infinitive, noun, pronoun, adjective, adverb or prepositional phrase).
The independent main lattice structure has no subject and predicate, so it is not syntactically a sentence. But there are many logical subjects, participle or infinitive representations of a noun or pronoun, and sometimes other modifiers. (The standard for judging whether a structure is a sentence is to see if the structure has a predicate verb.) This structure is usually used in sentences, such as the way, time, reason, condition and other adverbial clauses, mainly for the written language. The independent main lattice structure using the non-predicate form of the verb can be changed to sentence form (subordinate clause): The independent main lattice structure plus the conjunction, the non-predicate verb is changed to the predicate verb form, thus becomes the subordinate clause.
For example:
Today being Sunday, the library isn ' t open. This Sunday, libraries are not open.
(reason) changed to a subordinate clause:
As (Since) today is Sunday, the library isn ' t open.
