Enterprises with more data centers and Private clouds are more meaningful
The popularity of the cloud has increased enterprises' interest in migrating from data center virtualization to private cloud, but many people are not clear about the benefits of private cloud and how to achieve this transition.
Before the Migration, the business must justify the use of private clouds instead of data center virtualization. In particular, the benefits of some private clouds are similar to virtualization. Private cloud has two common benefits. First, it is more efficient than virtualized resources, and second, it is easier to mix with public cloud services. However, these benefits cannot be guaranteed to every enterprise.
After determining that private cloud is the right choice for your enterprise, the IT team must carefully plan the framework for workload migration and generation.
For enterprises with multiple data centers, private cloud is more economical than virtualization. In fact, Private clouds are more meaningful if enterprises have more data centers. Private cloud can create a resource pool across all data centers. The combination of such resources will lead to a more efficient environment and lower costs. If enterprises can centrally manage these data center resources in a single view, the operation costs will also be reduced.
Highly dynamic applications that run on demand and are executed in a short period of time are also suitable for Private clouds. Most cloud software suites can easily and efficiently manage dynamic applications, but these virtualization software may not. However, virtualization is very efficient during application loading and long-term operation.
Most enterprises use private cloud services and want to use them more. Because they often combine these services with data center resources, private cloud migration can promote mixing. However, it may lead to a variety of mixed models.
For example, some enterprises use the public cloud as a data center backup to cope with failures or increase in workload processing. In this case, Private clouds based on the same software and management tools as public clouds can make mixing easier, cheaper, and more responsive. Both the public cloud and the data center should follow the same practice, and the environment management is very similar. However, if a public cloud application is used only as a supplement, it is not an alternative. For data center applications, virtualization is more efficient.
