Dial-up Internet access through ADSL has become a mainstream Internet access mode for many individual or home users, we often encounter many unexpected Internet access situations, such as ADSL device disconnection, illegal modification of ADSL Internet parameters, and restrictions on ADSL Internet sharing, many dial-up users tend to be helpless, which affects the efficiency of ADSL dial-up access! In order to effectively cope with various unexpected situations of ADSL dial-up Internet access and improve the efficiency of individual or home broadband Internet access, this article will summarize some common dial-up Internet access techniques, I hope these skills will help dial-up users!

1. Clone the address to break the ISP sharing limit

To maximize economic profits, a considerable number of arrogant telecom departments have begun to restrict the Internet access through ADSL shared connections for home users, the user's network connection will be forcibly disconnected. In the face of these unreasonable Internet restrictions, how can we forcibly break through the restrictions so that multiple workstations in the home network can share an ADSL device for Internet access? In fact, in the face of such unreasonable sharing restrictions, we can modify the MAC address of the ADSL device to defraud the Telecommunications Department. The specific modification steps are as follows:

First, connect the ADSL device to a workstation in the home network correctly, then open the Internet Explorer window in the workstation system, and enter the default Management address of the ADSL device in the address bar of the window, generally, it is 192.168.1.1. Click the Enter key to open the background management interface of the ADSL device;

Find the "Network Parameters" setting item in the background management interface and select the "clone MAC address" option. In the area displayed on the right of the option, click "clone MAC address" and then click "save". As a result, the local telecom department cannot know whether its Internet access method is a router connection method, then we can continue to share the ADSL device for network access.

2. Modify the port to securely implement dial-up Internet access

To facilitate the management and maintenance of the ADSL Modem device during Internet access in the future, many manufacturers often set the "80" port of the ADSL Modem device to its backend Management port, however, if an attacker or hacker knows the default IP address of the ADSL Modem, the administrator password of the ADSL device may be obtained through brute-force cracking. In this way, the ADSL device may have security risks. To avoid illegal modification of the backend parameters of the ADSL Modem and ensure smooth and secure dial-up access, we can try to modify the default backend access port of the device, in this way, illegal attackers who do not know the access port cannot log on to the ADSL background interface and modify the Internet access parameters at will. The specific modification steps are as follows:

Connect the ADSL device to the local computer, double-click the IE icon on the local desktop, open the IE browser window, and enter the default backend management IP address of the ADSL Modem in the address bar, click the Enter key, fill in the user name and password information provided in the operation manual in the background login window, and then click "OK ", in this way, we can open the background management window of the ADSL Modem;

Figure 1

In the background management window, click the "manage" tab to go to the option settings page shown in 1, click the "Port Settings" project under the page, and on the port settings page that appears later, we may wish to set a proper port number by referring to the numeric range prompted at "HTTP port". For example, if we enter "888" on the port settings page ", when you click the "Submit" button, the background management port number of the ADSL Modem is changed to "888". When we need to access the background management interface of the ADSL Modem in the future, you must enter a URL like "http: // 192.168.1.1: 888" in the address bar of the IE browser. If we do not know the number of the backend port, then you cannot access the background setting interface of the ADSL device. In this way, the backend Internet access parameters of the ADSL Modem device are not easily modified.

3. Separate Power Supply to improve dial-up Internet stability

The ADSL Modem device requires stricter power supply than other devices. If the input current of the device fluctuates greatly, therefore, the stability of dial-up Internet access using the ADSL Modem device will be significantly affected. In severe cases, the internal chip of the ADSL Modem device is also at risk of burning down. Therefore, in the best possible conditions, we should pull a separate power supply line for the ADSL Modem device from the low-voltage distribution panel of the unit transformer, or pull a separate power supply line for ADSL from the home power distribution cabinet, of course, we must note that the input cable of this dedicated power supply must be in the wrong direction with high-power electrical equipment, so as to ensure that the current circuit of the input circuit of ADSL Modem is independent, this can avoid mixing with the current circuit of other devices, thus reducing voltage interference. We also need to remind you that you should try to provide a separate power outlet for the ADSL Modem, instead of letting the ADSL Modem share a socket with other frequently-inserted electrical equipment, after all, electric spark may occur when other electrical devices frequently perform Power Supply plugging. This will directly affect the running status of the ADSL Modem, and eventually lead to unstable dial-up access.

4. Set parameters to correctly display the dialing progress

Generally, the system will automatically display a dialing progress prompt when the ADSL device performs a dialing operation. With this progress indicator, we can always know in advance whether the dialing operation is successful. However, sometimes the dial progress prompts that the information is missing. In the face of this phenomenon, how can we re-display the dial progress information correctly? In fact, the reason why the dialing progress information disappears is that we accidentally changed the dialing option settings of the system during the operation. We only need to re-enter the dialing attribute setting interface, set the dialing option parameters correctly to display the dialing progress information. The specific setting steps are as follows:

First, in the computer system directly connected to the ADSL device, click the "Start", "set", "network connection", and "ADSL connection" menu commands in sequence, open the dialing connection Property setting window of the ADSL device;

Figure 2

Click the "options" tab in the settings window to go to the label setting page shown in 2 and check whether the "connection progress displayed during connection" option is selected, if this option is not selected, We must promptly re-select the option and click "OK". In this way, when we attempt to dial the ADSL device again in the future, the system will automatically display the dialing progress prompt.
5. Adjust the service and reject the dial-up prompt

Every ADSL dial-up user may encounter such a strange phenomenon when dialing the Internet, that is, every time he runs the Windows system's built-in IE program or opens the built-in mail client program, in Windows, the Internet dial-up connection window pops up, prompting us whether to perform dial-up operations, even if we do not want to perform Internet access operations, the prompt message of the dial-up connection will still pop up automatically. Obviously, in many cases, the pop-up dial-up connection Prompt window will interfere with our normal operation. Can we reject the dial-up connection prompt to automatically pop up?

The answer is yes. You only need to click the "set" button on the dial-up connection prompt page that is automatically displayed for the first time, then, select the "Disable automatic dialing when I log on" option on the prompt page and click "OK", so that the dial-up connection Prompt window will not pop up automatically next time. However, the above method is only valid during the system operation. If the computer system is restarted or logged out, the dial-up connection prompt will still pop up in front of us! In order to make the dial-up connection Prompt window no longer appear, we may wish to suspend the use of the Windows built-in automatic dial-up service to refuse to bring up the dial-up prompt. The specific implementation method is as follows:

First, click Start and run commands on the system desktop one by one. In the displayed system run dialog box, enter the string command "services. msc, click OK to open the Service List window of the local computer system;

Figure 3

Then, in the area displayed on the right of the window, select the "Remote Access Auto connection Manager" service and right-click the service option, run the "attribute" command from the shortcut menu to open the target service attribute interface shown in 3;

Click the "General" tab on the property page, and click "stop" on the corresponding option settings page to temporarily stop the "Remote Access Auto connection Manager" service; next, click the drop-down button next to "Startup Type", select the "disabled" option from the pop-up drop-down list, and click "OK, in this case, when we run the IE program or open the mail client program in the future, the prompt message about the Internet automatic dial-up connection will not appear.

6. Modify the key value to maintain the ADSL connection status.

Several employees in a department share the same workstation, which is connected to the Internet through ADSL dialing. Every employee uses his/her own account to log on to the workstation; however, the system automatically disconnects the previously created Internet connection after logging out of the user account. As a result, newly logged-in employees generally need to re-establish a dial-up connection to continue accessing the Internet, obviously, this is not conducive to improving the office efficiency of employees. Can we enable employees to maintain the ADSL dialing connection status when canceling a user account? The answer is yes. You only need to follow the steps below to modify the key values of the system registry to achieve the goal. The specific steps are as follows:

First, open the system running text box, enter the string command "regedit", and click the Enter key to go to the system registry editing page of the local computer. In the list area on the left of the editing page, place the cursor in the Registry branch "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE", and select the Registry subitem "SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows NT \ CurrentVersion \ Winlogon" under the branch ";

Next, in the list area on the right of the "Winlogon" subitem, check whether the "KeepRasConnections" dual-byte value exists. If the key value does not exist, right-click the "Winlogon" sub-item, execute the "new"/"Dword Value" command in the shortcut menu, and name it "KeepRasConnections ";

Figure 4

Double-click the created double-byte value "KeepRasConnections", open the "Edit double-byte value" dialog box 4, and select the "hexadecimal" item, enter the number "1" in the "value data" text box, click "OK", and press the F5 function key to refresh the computer system registry, in this way, when an employee cancels a user account in the future, the ADSL dial-up connection status will be retained!
