Apple is proud to advertise that Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard has more than 300 new features. That sounds pretty impressive, but after I've seen and experienced myself since I was released from Leopard, I can say that a large proportion of them are fairly mundane.
So, so many new things, what are the best? In my personal opinion, the following 18 features will most likely make my computer life more convenient, efficient and enjoyable.
1. Time Machine Machine
You can be picky about bugs and weaknesses in Apple's new built-in backup program, but it seems to me that it's a good thing to be able to get more people to back up.
Time Machine: A huge leap in backup
To the novice, this restore file interface is indeed a genius, it is quite beautiful. It allows me to recklessly delete some files, just to enjoy the fun of restoring them. For people who are having trouble using traditional backup applications, there is nothing easier than a click-by setting. The time machine has taken a big step forward in relieving stress and increasing pleasure.
2, spaces
I am a full screen space addict. I always try my best to get the maximum display area, and I think the bigger the better. I've always seen a lot of big windows open, they're not properly positioned, minimized, or hidden, which makes me feel messy.
Room to hold everything
But now, spaces has given me the most neat and efficient multi-desktop system, and I've tried many similar products before. It's like I have three more monitors, or I can have more when I need them. I can go from email to web browsing, or from a terminal session to a worksheet, just by tapping the keyboard or clicking one mouse at a time.
3. Screen sharing
If I want to control another Mac in my home or in my office, I just need one click to do it. And if it's the Mac that runs Tiger, it's hard to control, or some computer running VNC. But with this simplest remote technical support, I was able to easily control a friend or a family member's Mac in ichat.
4, the improvement of spotlight spotlight
Matt Neuburg aptly described: "The spotlight in leopard is like the spotlight in Tiger, but it's not like that." "It also shows that the spotlight in the leopard is surprisingly good. The most important thing is that it is not something that bores you, it is a huge improvement in itself.
Spotlight
Its practical practicality is far more than that. Enclose a search in quotation marks to find the whole phrase and use some Boolean values. And, or, and not to find content more accurately, it can also search the entire text on the page you visit. In addition, in the Spotlight menu you can also search in its built-in dictionary, even in the entire load of the network volume to search! Spotlight finally did not live up to what it had advertised before, and became a tool that I needed to use many times a day.
