Definition of business intelligence
The definition of business intelligence is different from each other. People's understanding of business intelligence is like the seven Indian blind people's understanding of elephants: some people think it is an information system for senior management personnel (EIS ), some people think it is a management information system (MIS), some people think it is a Decision Support System (DSS); some people say it is a database technology, some people say it is a data warehouse, some people say it is a dataset city, some say it is a data integration and cleaning tool, some say it is a query and report tool, some say it is an online analysis and processing tool, some people say it is data mining, some people say it is statistical analysis, some people regard it as an analytical ERP, some people regard it as an analytical CRM, and some people regard it as an analytical SCM, some people regard it as corporate performance management, while others regard it as a balanced scorecard .......
Real business intelligence includes all of the above but not all of the above, so we cannot simply add all of the above to the definition of business intelligence. After summing up the definition of business intelligence in multiple versions, the author defines business intelligence as follows: "Business Intelligence is the use of modern information technology to collect, manage, and analyze structured and unstructured business data and information, create and accumulate business knowledge and insights, and improve the level of business decision-making, take effective business actions, improve various business processes, improve business performance in all aspects, and enhance the intelligence and capabilities of comprehensive competition." Next, I will break down the semantic elements of this definition.
