ie icon is missing, the custom desktop inside also can't find ~ ~ (figure)

Originally, this issue was caused by the ms07-061 (KB943460) update installed by these users. According to Microsoft's official sources, Windows XP has canceled the option to display the Internet Explorer icon on the desktop since ms07-061, due to sensitive topics related to browser monopolies, which will be included in Windows XP SP3 in the future. Currently, the Windows XP SP3 Release Candidate version is installed or the ms07-061 update SP2 user has been installed and will find that this option has been canceled. According to Microsoft's official explanation, if we still want to display the IE icon on the desktop, we can open the program Files\Internet Explorer folder in Explorer for IEXPLORE. EXE to manually create a shortcut, and then cut the shortcut to use on the desktop.

Although Microsoft has provided us with a solution, we know that the Internet Explorer icon that was displayed on the desktop before Windows XP is not an ordinary shortcut, and this icon implements some special features, such as right-clicking the icon and choosing properties in the right-click menu. Open the Internet option, or in the right-click menu, select "Start without starting an add-in" (This feature is limited to IE 7). Now that Windows XP SP3 "forced" us to replace the original Internet Explorer icon with an ordinary IE shortcut, many friends will feel that it is inconvenient to use.

Here are some ways to get back to the original Internet Explorer icon for your desktop:

1, open "My Computer or Recycle Bin", click the Up button, ran to the desktop, where there is already disappeared Internet Explorer icon! Just drag it to the desktop.

2, third, you point to customize the desktop, click on the keyboard I key, and then determine, then point application.

3, open other disk, such as D disk or E disk, note that this way can not be directly on the desktop implementation. Set up a folder in D disk, named Internet Explorer. {871c5380-42a0-1069-a2ea-08002b30309d}

When you're done, copy this folder to your desktop, and the new Internet Explorer icon will come back!

4, enter "Regedit.exe" in the Run box to open Registry Editor, find the following registry branch Hkey_current_ User\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\hidedesktopicons\newstartpanel named "{ 871C5380-42A0-1069-A2EA-08002B30309D} "DWORD (32-bit) registry key; Set its value to" 0 "; after refreshing the desktop, you will see the vanishing IE icon appear again, right-click to see the relevant Internet browsing settings. If you do not have a name of ' {871c5380-42a0-1069-a2ea-08002b30309d} ', create one yourself.
