The following is a list of the latest functions of Adobe Dreamweaver cs4.

Real-time View

Dreamweaver cs4 allows you to design web pages with the new "real-time" view while maintaining direct access to the code. Changes made to the Code are immediately reflected in the display. See the preview page in Dreamweaver.

Code prompts for Ajax and JavaScript frameworks

With improved support for JavaScript core objects and primitive data types, you can now write JavaScript more quickly and accurately. You can also combine common JavaScript frameworks (including jquery, prototype, and Adobe spry) to use Dreamweaver's extended encoding function. See the code prompt.

Related Files and Code Navigator

Dreamweaver cs4 allows you to effectively manage various files that make up today's web pages. Click any related file to view its source code in the Code view and view its parent page in the design view. The new "Code Navigator" function displays all the code sources that affect the selected content, such as CSS (stacked style sheets) rules and servers include external JavaScript Functions, Dreamweaver templates, and IFRAME source files. Incontext editing

You can enable end users to easily edit their web pages without turning to you or other software. As a Dreamweaver designer, you can quickly and accurately restrict changes to specific pages, independent areas, or even custom format setting options. See create an incontext editing file.

CSS best practices

The Dreamweaver cs4 property checker allows you to create new CSS rules and provide a simple and clear explanation of the cascading style that each attribute applies. See setting text attributes in the property checker.

HTML Dataset

You can integrate dynamic data functions on the Web page without learning database and XML (Extensible Markup Language) encoding. Spry dataset recognizes simple HTML table content as an interactive data source. See create spry HTML dataset.

Adobe Photoshop Smart Object

Insert any Adobe Photoshop PSD (Photoshop data file) document in Dreamweaver to create an image intelligent object. Smart Objects are closely linked to source files. You can change the source image and update your image in Dreamweaver without opening Photoshop. See use Photoshop.

Subversion Integration

Dreamweaver cs4 integrates subversion software (an open-source version control system) to provide a more reliable storage/retrieval experience. You can directly update your website from Dreamweaver and modify it back. For more information, see Use Subversion (SVN) to obtain and store back files.

New User Interface

Using the shared user interface design, you can work more quickly and intelligently in the 4 components of Adobe Creative Suite. You can use the work area switch to quickly switch from one work environment to another. See workspace.
