System and User Environment design
The success of Apple system is the system architecture. By simplifying the system itself, devices can only become better, smaller, and more powerful. In the future, hardware will be replaced by flash memory.
In order to compete, Sony has to plan a better system, rather than a worse performance.
The same is true of writing media, books and magazines. By pleasing the reader, Sony may be successful, but in addition to pleasing the reader, its entire system must be correct, portable enough and effective enough for the reader.
(Sony by proposing it reader may successful but again the entire system must is in place, the reader, really portable and efficient with enough)
When the winning idea is "system", the final design style (although important) is not dominant.

The model against Jesse
I disagree with Jesse's chart. These are not elements of the user experience, but elements of web design.
Yes, a good grasp of these elements will give users a high quality experience. But "Information architecture", "Interaction Design", "User needs", and so on, are not made up of user experience.
A high quality user experience consists of the following elements: desirability (desirability), availability (usability), Satisfaction (enjoyability), usefulness (utility), Pleasure (delight), Meet (satisfaction) and so on.
