Firefox modifies the browser to enable the new paging function for greater use

Opening a new page (new-tab) in a web browser will occupy a lot of valuable screen space, but the content is blank. In view of this, Firefox's programmers also tried to make it more useful, following the practices of Safari and Chrome.

The Mozilla interface guru Aza Raskin posts a screen capture, indicating a new method to fill in the new page screen, which can make the best of its use, and will not overconsume the performance of the computer.

The quick-access bar on the right is composed of a series of thumbnails to preview the recently opened and frequently opened web pages. The buttons in the upper left corner support various actions. For example, if you have selected some webpage text before enabling the new page, the text will be displayed as a search keyword, you only need to click the button in the new page to perform the search.

Mozilla has tested the new paging option since January, Raskin said: "From the tester's response to the previous two new paging concepts, we know that the web page must be loaded immediately (even if you only need to wait a bit, will damage the user experience), do not visually distract, and should be used as a launch station to start your daily activities."

Whether it's the latest beta version of Safari 4 or Google Chrome, a series of most frequently viewed web pages are displayed when new pages are enabled. Google's Toolbar can introduce Chrome browsing behavior to Firefox and Internet Explorer browsers.

Raskin explained the idea that Mozilla intends to place the thumbnail on the right. "It may seem a bit strange to have a shortcut on the right side of the window. The purpose is not to take the lead. If you just focus on opening new tabs and entering url URLs, it falls out of the scope of your central vision ."
