Insert page numbers in a Word document

Animation Demo:

① click "Insert" → "page number ..." in the menu bar to open the page Number dialog box.

② Select where you want the page number to be placed in the Position Drop-down list box, depending on your needs.

③ the alignment in the page by selecting the page number you want in the Alignment drop-down list box. Where "Inside" and "outside" means that when printed on both sides, the page number insertion position is on the "Inside" and "outside" of the page, regardless of odd or even-numbered pages.

④ Select the first page number check box, the page number starts at the beginning of the document, and if you clear this check mark, the page number is displayed from the text grade page, but the page number still starts with "2."

⑤ View the preview on the right to see the page number display effect, click OK to insert the page number into the specified position in document 5.

Tips:

① in the body, you cannot edit the page numbers that are inserted using the above method, and if you want to modify the page number, switch to the header and footer view.

② perform "view" → "header Footer", enter the edit state of the header footer, also open the Header Footer toolbar, click the Insert Page Number button to insert the page number in the header or footer area at the cursor position.

③ click insert → autotext → header footer → page number in the menu bar to insert a page number at any location where the cursor is located.

④ when you drag the vertical scroll bar with the left mouse button, you can see the corresponding page number in the tab on the left and the status bar at the bottom of the document.
