Today, we will introduce how IPX protocol is used to improve network adapter conflicts. First, let's take a look at how specific errors are formed, and then introduce the solution process.
Figure 1
IPX is an earlier network connection protocol. Due to its disadvantages, IPX is gradually replaced by TCP/IP.
However, some earlier game software still uses the IPX protocol. For example, I love the game "Starcraft", and the connection method is IPX. After a dual-network card is installed, Windows2000 automatically adds protocols to all network devices and these protocols are associated. That is to say, no matter which network device adds any protocol, the second NIC also appears.
However, in Starcraft or some other software, the IPX protocol of the two NICS will make these software overwhelmed, and the result is of course unable to connect (this is also the disadvantage of IPX protocol ). Of course, there is no solution. Although the association characteristics of Inter-device protocols are annoying, you can still solve the problem by setting.
As shown in figure 1, we click the service to be canceled, and the service content is also disabled without the need to uninstall the protocol, just in line with my requirements (the network adapter connected to ADSL does not need the IPX protocol ). After entering Starcraft, the game can be connected to the Internet and the problem is finally solved. I can also play the game normally.
