CISCO and vswitches are usually used in many projects, while Juniper vswitches are rarely used. A juniper switch EX2200 has been redeployed from elsewhere in a project of the Organization. You need to debug the test project. Generally, the switch model is different, and the command line and configuration are also different. Because this switch has never been used before, it is unclear about its configuration and command, so first look for information and get familiar with it, then perform the operation.
The Juniper EX2200 vswitch is a layer-2 and layer-3 vswitch. Its layer-3 Protocol only supports Static Routing and RIP. The Juniper EX2200 switch can be configured using CLI (command-line interface) or web browser interface. Because this switch has been configured before, you must first clear the original configuration. We first connect to the console for configuration. There are two CLI modes: user mode and configuration mode. The user mode prompt is>, and the configuration mode prompt is #, in user mode, enter configure or edit to enter the configuration mode.
1. Clear the original configuration
When you use the Console to configure the cable connection, the following error occurs: Amnesiac (ttyu0) login: root
Password:
Enter the password and log on to the system. --- JUNOS 10.4R3.4 built 10:28:55 UTC
After logging on, the root @: RE: 0% prompt appears. enter cli to enter the command line configuration mode.
Root @: RE: 0% root @: RE: 0% cliroot> configureEntering configuration mode [edit] root # The configuration mode is now enabled.
Root # load factory-default load default Configuration
Warning: activating factory configuration [edit]
Note: by default, the ROOT password is blank, so you need to set a super-managed password.
Root # set system root-authentication plain-text-password
New password:
Retype new password: [edit]
Root # commit submission takes effect

So far, we have cleared the original configuration.
Ii. set alarm alarms
Shortly after the switch is turned on, you will find that the Alarm light on the panel LCD in front of the switch is red. Do not worry that this is because the MGMT port is the Management port) is not connected to the network cable. You can manually close the ALARM of the Management port and use this command in juniper:
# Set chassis alarm management-ethernet link-down ignore
# Commit
The light gradually becomes orange.
Add another command
# Set chassis alarm ethernet link-down ignore # No alert is generated when you set all ports
(Note: link-down can detect the port status. If you have set an alarm for Port link down, it is best to disable unused ports to avoid frequent alarms.) supplement:
# Set chassis alarm ethernet link-down red # set all ports to generate an alarm
3.
, VLAN configuration
The logical port of the Juniper switch is implemented through the unit logical unit, unit 0 is the default logical port, and all ports referenced to the layer-2/layer-3 Port reference the unit 0, for example, for the physical port ge-0/0/0, the Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocol used in the logical port is ge-0/0/0.0, IP address information, VLAN information are configured in the ge-0/0/0.0, in the command configuration of the JUNIPER switch, you can use the TAB key and Space key to complete the parameters. In the system parameters, the two keys play the same role.
For example, create a VLAN 10 named test and the gateway is set to 192.168.1.1/24, and the ge-0/0/1 belongs to the VLAN.
Configuration steps:
(1) create a VLAN
Root @ ex2200 # edit vlans test # create a vlan named test
Root @ ex2200 # set vlan-id 10 # set vlan id
Root @ ex2200 # set description "Test VLAN" # set vlan description
Root @ ex2200 # set mac-limit 200 # set the number of mac addresses in the range of (1 .. 65535). This parameter can be left unspecified.
Root @ ex2200 # set mac-table-aging-time 600 # "set mac survival time (seconds) in the range of (60-1000000 )"
Root @ ex2200 # set l3-interface vlan.10 # "bind layer-3 logical sub-port"
Root @ ex2200 # set interface ge-0/0/1.0 # "add Port to VLAN"
Root @ ex2200 # set interface ge-0/0/2.0 # "add Port to VLAN" (2) create layer-3 logical sub-Port
Root @ ex2200 # top # "back to the outermost menu" root @ ex2200 # set interfaces vlan unit 10 family inet address 192.168.1.1/24 # set Gateway (3) change the switch port to access mode and add it to the newly created VLAN. root @ ex2200 # top # "back to the outermost layer menu"
Root @ ex2200 # set interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode access
Root @ ex2200 # set interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members 10
Root @ ex2200 # set interfaces ge-0/0/2 unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode access
Root @ ex2200 # set interfaces ge-0/0/2 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members 10 (4) commit submit:
Root @ ex2200 # commit5) delete a VLAN:
After a VLAN is created, it is referenced by a port and may have a layer-3 port. Therefore, when deleting a vlan, you must disable the port reference and delete the layer-3 vlan sub-port. The deletion procedure is as follows: 1. delete a port vlan
Root @ ex2200 # top
Root @ ex2200 # delete interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode access
Root @ ex2200 # delete interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members 10
Root @ ex2200 # delete interfaces ge-0/0/2 unit 0 family ethernet-switching port-mode access
Root @ ex2200 # delete interfaces ge-0/0/2 unit 0 family ethernet-switching vlan members 10
2. Delete the L3 sub-port corresponding to the vlan
Root @ ex2200 # top
Root @ ex2200 # delete interfaces vlan unit 10
3. Delete vlan configurations
Root @ ex2200 # top
Root @ ex2200 # delete vlans test
6) Configure TRUNK
Set port Trunk Mode
Root @ ex2200 # top # Back to the outermost menu
Root @ ex2200 # delete interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 # "delete port Info"
Root @ ex2200 # edit interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching
Root @ ex2200 # set port-mode trunk # "set port to Trunk mode"
Root @ ex2200 # set vlan members 10 # "allow vlan 10 to pass"
Root @ ex2200 # set vlan members 20 # "allow vlan 20 through" root @ ex2200 # set vlan members all # "allow all VLANs to be deleted through" Trunk"
Prohibit a single vlan from passing through:
Root @ ex2200 # top # "back to the outermost menu"
Root @ ex2200 # edit interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching
Root @ ex2200 # delete vlan members 10 # "Disable vlan 10 from passing through" delete port Trunk
Root @ ex2200 # top # "back to the outermost menu"
Root @ ex2200 # edit interfaces ge-0/0/1 unit 0 family ethernet-switching
Root @ ex2200 # delete port-mode trunk # "delete trunk"
Root @ ex2200 # delete vlan members # "delete all VLANs under a port" 4. routes and maintenance commands
You can configure static routes and RIP dynamic routes when using the Juniper EX2200 layer-3 interface. # Set routing-options static route 0/0 next-hop 192.168.3.254 set the default route and point the next hop of the default route to 192.168.3.254 # commit in juniper OS. If the configuration needs to take effect, you must use the commit command. If you want to import the configurations of the Juniper switch from one server to another, you must convert the configurations of juniper to the SET format. You can use the following command. Root # show | display setset version 10.4R3.4set system root-authentication encrypted-password "$1 $ aK4nIAeS $ gRagHhBfoWl2CJhHou4Ox0"
Some simple maintenance commands of the vswitch:
View the serial number show chassis hardware
View hardware show chassis hardware
View the software version show version
View CPU show chassis routing-engine
