 I. Installation and Use of liferay

The latest version of liferay is liferay portal 7.0.5,: http://sourceforge.net/projects/lportal;
Here we download the version of liferay bound to Tomcat 6, which comes with jdk1.6. After the download, we need to perform the following steps to easily run liferay.
1. After downloading, you 'd better find a folder dedicated for liferay workspace, because many files will be downloaded in the future, which is convenient for management.

Unzip liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0.5.zip
First, decompress liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0.5.zip. After decompression, the directory structure is as follows:

Directory decentralization is the built-in liferay example (7 coogs), Database hsql scripts, and Lucene documents.

This is the home directory of Tomcat. The structure is the same as that of tomcat in general. The war package of the liferay portal application is put in the webapps directory, where root is the most important, you will find that there are no class files in the WEB-INF/classes, because they are packaged into jar packages and placed under the WEB-INF/lib, so the effect is the same.

3. Execute./startup. bat in the liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0.5/liferay-portal-6.0.5/tomcat-6.0.26/bin directory,
At this time, tomcat has been started. Generally, it will start for about 5 minutes. It is automatically opened in the browser after it is started.
Http: // localhost: 8080, so that you can access the liferay portal.
Close and execute./shutdown. Sh.

4. log on to the liferay portal.

In the open browser, click Login in the upper right corner and enter the account and password. The account password entered here is

Email: bruno@7cogs.com

Password: Bruno

In Versions later than 5.2, liferay has a sample database of 7cogs. Inc. So the Administrator account password here is as follows. If you delete the example database, the account password is as follows:

Email: test@liferay.com

Password: Test

This is the first login status and needs to be configured

 

We use the default user name, test@liferay.com

 

Here I use a new password saisai.

Enter a password.

Then return to login. The following figure shows the login result.

5. Example of deleting 7cogs

A. Find the sevencogs-hook directory under tomcat/webapps and delete it.

B. Delete the data/hsql directory at the same level as Tomcat.

C, restart tomcat, then the Administrator account becomes test@liferay.com/test
6. What should I do if the log information is garbled during liferay startup?
Open the logging. properties file under the liferay-portal-tomcat-6.0.5/liferay-portal-6.0.5/tomcat-6.0.26/CONF/directory, add a java. util. Logging. lelehandler. Encoding = GBK, and restart.
