The DICOM Standard defines 27 Basic Data Types in ps3.5, namely the value representation (VR, value representations ). Value representations are used to encapsulate all possible clinical data types. Writing anything in DICOM must conform to one of the 27 Basic data types. Each VR is an abbreviation of two English letters. The following table lists the definitions of these 27 Basic data types.

A string that uniquely identifies various projects and contains uid. For example, "1.2.840.10008.1.1"

Date

String in the format of yyyymmdd; yyyy indicates year; mm indicates month; dd indicates day. For example, "20050822" indicates August 22, 2005.

A string in the format of hhmmss. Frac; hh indicates the hour (range: "00"-"23"); mm indicates the minute (range: "00"-"59"); and Frac contains the fractional part of the second, that is, one minute per second. For example, "183200.00" indicates.

In the format of yyyymmddhhmmss. ffffff. From left to right: yyyy, mm, DD, HH, mm, SS, and second. For example, "20050812183000.00" indicates August 12, 2005 18:30:00 P.M..
