According to foreign media reports, Microsoft recently held a one-hour Q & A meeting to answer questions related to IE8. This meeting is informal, so participants can ask any questions about IE8. The specific questions and answers are as follows:

1. Q: Is IE8 really the terminator of the trigger rendering engine?

A: No, I don't think IE8 is the terminator of the trigger rendering engine. We have been using the trigger in IE browsers for a long time and are gradually improving. I don't think the trigger hinders our development, in fact, there are many clever design ideas in the trigger rendering engine.

2. Q: Will ie show the support for mouse gestures in future versions? Is this what your team has been pursuing?

A: In IE8, the mouse gesture function may be supported. The mouse gesture function is favored by some browser enthusiasts, but it does not play a major role for common users. Currently, we have done a lot of work on the touch support in IE8 of Windows 7. I think improving the user interface availability is the focus of our work.

3. Q: What do you think about the opening of the new standard for IE8? Is there anything to remind users? This patch always seems to suggest you close the website. Is there any solution to this problem?

A: I have not followed the tag issue so far. I will follow up on this.

4. Q: How is the extension approval on ieaddons.com? Will Microsoft always approve expansion in this way?

A: We have our own administrators in every country. We will review them before approval, but it is easy to establish if it is just XML.

5. Q: What is Microsoft's plan for executing future ECMAScript versions and compatibility specifications other than CSS, such as DOM, SVG, video, canvas, and audio?

A: As far as ECMAScript is concerned, we have been one of the major developers of ECMAScript TC-39 before ES3.1, which has now been renamed ES5) and we are planning to implement necessary standardization. As for other standards, we will continue to follow up. The specifications mentioned above have been listed as considerations.

6. Q: Will Microsoft's IE integrate the sandbox Technology in web browsers like Google's chrome?

A: For Internet sandbox, we actually have similar feature protection modes and loose coupling IE browsers in IE ). We will continue to improve the security performance of IE and ensure that users' privacy is not infringed.

7. Q: Why didn't I use the ribbon technology on the IE interface? Is there any plan to use the ribbon interface in future IE versions?

A: We have always tried to simplify the interface. We do not think that the ribbon interface is a good choice for IE8, but it is not ruled out that the ribbon interface will be used in IE in the future.

8. Q: What do you think of the original device manufacturer if you use IE8 as the new Vista browser?

A: This depends on the opinions of the original device manufacturer. They have different opinions.

9. Q: When IE8.1 is released, what functions will it add? Is there any progress on EOT?

A: At present, there is no IE8.1 plan. The most important thing at present is to ensure the perfection of Windows 7. Other aspects are not considered yet.

  2. PCWorld: Firefox browser declared dead
