MinGW Installation Instructions

1. Manually set up the directory C:\MinGW\var\cache\mingw-get

Copy the Packages folder to this directory.

Note: When you run the Mingw-get-inst-20120426.exe installation, you are actually downloading the components in the packages, where you will download the packages to avoid downloading.

2. Run the Mingw-get-inst-20120426.exe and install it as shown in the steps below, especially note that it must be installed under C:\MinGW (official recommendation).

3. Wait for the installation to complete, set the environment variable, and add the upper C:\MinGW\bin in Path

4. Enter the C:\MinGW\bin directory, copy the Mingw32-make.exe file, and name Make.exe.

5. Run Msys.bat to start the shell, where Mintty is installed.

Execute Mingw-get Install Mintty

Wait for the installation to complete.

6. Create a desktop shortcut for Msys.bat and modify its startup parameters as shown below

Note: This version of MinGW contains the Libiconv library by default.
