Oracle and Linux and virtualization strategies

Oracle's virtualization strategy is named Oracle VM server and changed from XEN. (open-source products are good. You just need to take them for use. Unlike ms products, let alone take them for commercial product development, that is, if you use pirated files, you can get a black screen). It is paravirtualization (quasi-virtualization), that is, its host OS needs to be specially transformed for virtualization, corresponding to full virtualization alization, the product is vmware workstation. For details about the virtualization technology category, see another blog. Oracle has developed its own Oracle VM manager (with the lifecycle manager function of virtual machines). The web console allows you to access and manage virtual machines through VM manager. Then we provide several pre-packaged and pre-configured modules on the Internet for users to download and use them directly on the ovm. I have never used xen, and I don't know what Oracle is. From the lectures, I know these things: server pool (the blessing of open-source software, unlike enterprise-level products such as vmware ms, the module and image (convert the hardware into an image, and then import the ovm into a VM for use) the vm in ovm is generated in four ways: iso installation and network installation. The hardware roles of master, utility, and vm server constitute the Oracle virtualization platform. The master is a hardware server, manages all virtual machines and is responsible for the ha (high availability) and dr (disaster recovery) of each virtual machine. utility is also a hardware server that implements creating, removing, migrating, and so on of I/O intensive operations, the vm server can have several virtual machines, the vm server is responsible for monitoring these virtual machines Performance and operation. If the master is down, the utinity takes over, and the utility is down again, the entire ovm platform will be crossed, regardless of whether the vm server is good or not.
