The PDCA cycle, also known as Dai minhuan, is a general model in management science. It was first developed by Walter. shewhart was conceived in 1930, and was later mined by Edwards Deming, an American quality management expert, in 1950, and widely publicized and applied to continuously improve product quality. It is a science that should be followed by all-round quality management.Program. The whole process of the quality management activities is the process of formulating the quality plan and implementing the Organization. This process is a process of [1] [2] running in accordance with the PDCA cycle without a pause.
PDCA cycle is a logical working procedure that can effectively carry out any activity, especially in quality management. The four English letters P, D, C, and a represent the following meanings:
① P (Plan) -- plan. Including the determination of policies and objectives and the formulation of activity plans;
② D (DO) -- execute. Execution is the specific operation to implement the content in the Plan;
③ C (check) -- check. It is necessary to summarize the results of the execution plan, identify which are right and which are wrong, clarify the results, and find out the problems;
④ A (Action)-action (or process ). The results of the summary inspection should be processed, successful experiences should be affirmed, standardized, or work instruction should be prepared to facilitate subsequent work; lessons learned from failure should also be summarized to avoid reproduction. For unsolved problems, they should be addressed in the next PDCA cycle.
PDCA is the first letter of the English word plan, do, check, and Act. The PDCA cycle is to manage quality in this order, in addition, the scientific procedures that go on repeatedly.
The operation of all-round quality management activities is inseparable from the rotation of the management cycle, which means that the scientific procedures of PDCA cycle should be used to improve and solve quality problems and catch up with the advanced level. Whether to improve product quality or reduce nonconforming products, we must first put forward the goal, that is, to what extent should the quality be improved, and how much should the nonconforming product rate be reduced? There must be a plan. This plan includes not only the goals but also the measures to be taken to achieve this goal. After the plan is formulated, it should be checked according to the plan to see if the expected results have been achieved, whether or not the expected goals have been met; problems and causes should be identified through inspections; finally, efforts should be made to develop experiences and lessons into standards and establish a system.
As a basic method for the operation of the overall quality management system, PDCA cycle needs to collect a large amount of data and use various management technologies and methods comprehensively.
