In the tutorial, I'll show you how to create a cool folded font effect with PS, and a few simple steps you can use to convert plain letters into a series of visually folded text, let's get started.
Final Effect
The first thing we have to do is open a new file in Photoshop, I'm using 1200*400 pixels, write Abduzeedo in bold, I use Verdana font bold, you can use any font you like.
Now, we're going to start folding every letter first, starting with a. Using the Rectangular Marquee tool (M), select the letter "a", press CTRL + C to copy the letter after selecting it, and then press CTRL + V to paste it, rename the pasted "a" (change the color of the Abduzeedo text before you copy and paste)
We already have the letter "a" on a new layer and now we will select a part of it to fold and I prefer to use the polygonal lasso tool (L). (Make selections as shown below)
Now, we have a constituency, we will press CTRL + C to copy the selection, then delete the layer "a" of the selection, press CTRL + V paste, when you paste will prompt it on a new layer, renamed to "A-fold", you can see the image below the effect.
First change the color of it, go to image > Adjust > Hue/saturation (press CTRL + U), the saturation is set to-100, lightness is 60, at this point it looks like the back of the letter folding, then edit > Transform > Vertical flip (Note: Because we are folding from top to bottom, If it is side to side, we will flip it horizontally), then we go to edit > Transform > Rotate, and make sure that we rotate the angle of the folding area to be precise and must be in place. The following figure is a collapsed image.
Now, the folding part has been put in the right place, in order to make it look more real we want to add some shadows, first hold down the CTRL key click on the "A-fold" layer, we chose the folded part, now create a new layer, named "A-fold-shadow." Use the gradient tool-the linear gradient of black applied to the angle of the top folded region in the following figure, reducing the opacity of the layer if necessary.
Back to the "a-fold" layer, go to layer > Layer style > Projection, and reduce opacity 75% to 25%,3lian footage, and try to adjust the angle of the folding area, I set the 135, also reduce the 2px distance, the rest remain unchanged.
Our final step on the layer "a" is to go back to the "a" layer, hold down Ctrl-click to select a, create a new layer (named A-shade), apply the gradient tool-Black's linear gradient from the bottom up, and change the layer pattern to overlay. (Simply add a shadow to the bottom of a)
Our first letter is done, and now we're going to repeat the same steps in the other letters and finally get a perfect result. Merge all the "a" letters into one folder, name "A", then start the same process for the letter B, and so on. Finally delete the text layer "Abduzeedo"! I hope you enjoy this tutorial.
