Some time ago I read the SOA in practice-the art of distribued system design written by niclai M. josutis. The whole book is a summary of josutis's experience, many of which come from practice.
The book provides the most concentrated Summary of SOA using five ppt files,
1. What is SOA? SOA is a paradigm to implement and maintain the business processes of large-scale distributed systems. It is mainly based on three technical concepts: Service, ESB, and loose coupling. Services fill the business it gap; ESB makes the interoperability between distributed systems and services possible. Loosely Coupled to reduce system dependencies.
2. policies and processes. SOA is not a technical issue, involving different systems and Multiple Task combinations. Relevant teams must cooperate
3. Web service. Is one of the possible ways to implement SOA. Web services also have their own problems, such as the immature standards, the inability to ensure interoperability, and the lack of appropriate loose coupling.
4. SOA practices. SOA of each enterprise is a progressive process of practice. It is not important for enterprises to introduce SOA. What is important is that the IT solution you introduce is appropriate for your context and needs.
5. SOA supervision and management support. We need an SOA team, a suitable person, and important things to come first. We need the support of the CEO.
