Recently I have been learning and using Ruby, and I am very interested in one of rubyforge's open-source projects, foxguib (http://fox-tool.rubyforge.org), which is a front-end GUI Builder tool for fxruby (Ruby GUI library, generate a layout file for the fxruby graphic interface. The reason why I am interested in this project is that if this tool is stable and easy to use, it can be used as a quick development tool for some auxiliary tools.
The latest version of foxguib is 0.7.1. After downloading it, I feel it is okay, but I found many hidden defects. Later I saw the author of the softwareCommunitySent a post, hoping that community members with test automation experience can help improve and stabilize thisProgram.
I have been using a lot of open-source community tools (especially open-source testing tools) in my work environment for a long time. Every time I use them, I am a little embarrassed (just get it, no contribution), so when I saw this post, I immediately sent an email to the author, indicating that I was willing to join the project.
Unexpectedly, the author immediately replied to the email and expressed his welcome, and he was about to take a vacation in China! Well, there was such a clever thing, and then I contacted him through several emails, because he had to go to Beijing and go to Zibo, so he agreed to meet him in Beijing today, the meeting place is the Summer Palace.
After seeing each other, I learned that his wife is a Chinese, he is an Austrian, and he has two sons, both of whom are in China. It's really interesting :) his native language is German and English is a second language, no wonder he thought his accent was a little strange when he was on the phone with me.) His son looked really pretty and went back very high along the way, and N people took the children to take a photo with his son, however, his son was a little shy. As a result, some people made him very unhappy. Later, I took charge of the archive (I think the enthusiasm of my fellow citizens is understandable, but do you have to take care of others ?).
After the meeting, the conversation was very speculative, and everyone had a common hobby for open-source software. Besides, there is also a common topic with his son on this issue: Anyway, he is coming to China in a few months now. This time he is in a hurry. If he has not had time to invite him to dinner, he will just make an appointment next time.
The last thing I need to summarize is my oral English. I haven't practiced my oral English for a long time. When I started chatting today, I was not in the status. I forgot some words when I said it, so I had to "... let me think, how to say it? ... "Fortunately, after a few minutes, it will be nice to get back to the status, from technology to life, to Chinese customs and so on. It seems that it's okay to maintain your oral state, in the future, if you have any friends in the open-source community to come to China, you have to get used to it for a while.
