First, system-related configuration
1. Set the root user password
sudo passwd Root
2. Install the 32-bit compatibility library
Often encounter GCC installed, environment variable configuration, but is arm-none-eabi-gcc-v display can not find the command, in fact, in 64-bit Ubuntu is not installed 32-bit compatible libraries, resulting in 32 of ARM-NONE-EABI-GCC does not work 。
sudo Install lib32ncurses5 sudo Install LIB32Z1
3. Install the ncurses Base Library
Ncurses is the basic library for screen control under the character terminal. Many of the newly developed programs may not be used, but if you want to compile some old programs, you will often encounter them. This library is required for the make Menuconfig command when compiling kernel and u-boot.
Install Libncurses5-dev
4. Modify the home Directory folder name
If the language selected when installing Ubuntu is Chinese, the folder name in the home directory is in Chinese, so it is inconvenient to enter Chinese in the console CD entry sub-directory. If it is in English, it is more convenient, but we directly to the home directory of the file to the English name, the previous desktop, download, documents and other directories have become home directory. Other catalogs are fine, but the desktop becomes a home directory, causing all the files in the home directory to be exposed to the desktop, very unhappy. How do you manually specify the path to the desktop, document, download folder, and so on?
You need to modify a configuration file that has the following path:
[Email protected]:~$ vim ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs
Modify the Xdg_xxx_dir directory in this file to specify the path to the desktop, document, download, and so on.
Here is a comment, a simple translation: This file is written by xdg-user-dirs-update, if you want to add or change the directory structure under the home directory, just edit the line of interest. All local changes will take effect the next time you run (restart). The format of each row is Xdg_xxx_dir = "$ home/yyy" relative path, or Xdg_xxx_dir = "/yyy" absolute path, no other format is supported.
So it's done here, but it needs to be restarted if it comes into effect.
