The ADSL Broadband Access Network is still quite common, So I studied how to check the connection status of the ADSL Broadband Access Network. Here I will share it with you, hoping it will be useful to you. Now, there are more and more friends who use ADSL, LAN, and other broadband methods for high-speed Internet access, such as the LAN-based ADSL Broadband Access Network provided by the author's city, not Limited (but the traffic is limited to KB), only 80 yuan per month, really happy. If you have upgraded to the Windows XP operating environment, you must consider the following broadband usage tips:

1. view the bandwidth connection status

Open the "Dial-Up Network" window under "Start/control panel", you can see that an available connection has been established under "LAN or high-speed Internet connection, the default name of this available connection is "Local Connection". For convenience, I have changed it to "Broadband connection ". Double-click the icon or execute the "status" command from the shortcut menu to view a window, from which you can see the status of the connection (connected or not), duration (connected time), speed, and many other useful parameters.

2. Disconnect bandwidth

I use the LAN-based ADSL Broadband Access Network. I do not need to make a dial-up connection every time. It is very convenient to access the Internet after I start the system. But if some friends want to temporarily disconnect the ADSL Broadband Access Network, but cannot find the "Disconnect" command from the shortcut menu, do they need to unplug the network cable?

Of course not required. You can right-click "Local Connection" and run the "Disable" command in the shortcut menu to disconnect the connection. If you want to connect again later, you only need to execute the "enable" command. However, after the experiment, I found that when the ADSL Broadband Access Network Connection is disabled, the connection will easily fail when it is enabled again. In this case, you can execute the "Repair" command.

3. Use the built-in Firewall

In the "properties" window, click the "advanced" tab and select the "Protect my computer and network by limiting or blocking access to this computer from the Internet" check box, you can get a free firewall protection. Why not?

4. Implement broadband ICS

Now that broadband has been used, why not let other computers in the House enjoy it? Next, I will introduce some tips for implementing Broadband ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) in Windows XP through an example:

(1) Hardware assurance

First, we must establish physical connections to computers (taking desktops and laptops as examples). For average home users, it is easier to build an equivalent network, that is, to allow computers to communicate with each other directly, in this way, you can achieve resource sharing without a dedicated server. ICS can implement one of the services.

To put it simply, you need to prepare NICs, cat5e twisted pair wires, and crystal headers. When creating network cable connectors, please pay attention to the problem of direction and line arrangement. If you do not know, you can refer to the previous articles in this newspaper, or ask the technical staff of the computer company to help you set up the network cable, which can avoid a lot of trouble.

(2) establish peer networks

Nic should be installed on each computer, and two NICs should be installed on the computer as the ICS host (preferably the desktop as the host), one of which is connected to the ADSL Broadband Access Network, the other one is connected to the laptop through a network cable, and the driver of the network card is installed separately. WindowsXP can automatically identify the vast majority of network cards, in addition, you need to add TCP/IP, NWLinkIPX, SPX, NetBIOSCompatibleTransport, NWLinkNetBIOS, and other protocols to the two brains, this can be done by right-clicking "Network Neighbor" → "attribute" → "Local Connection" → "attribute" → "Install" → "protocol. If everything goes well, you will soon be able to see the other party's computer in "Network neighbors.
