By enabling VMware fault tolerance for virtual machines, you can maximize the normal running time of the data center and reduce the cost of downtime management. It creates real-time virtual machine shadow instances that are actually synchronized with the master instance, so that applications can continue to be available even when the server fails. VMware Fault Tolerance enables real-time failover between two instances in case of hardware failure, so that no data loss or interruption occurs.
