What are the channels and masks for PS?
First, in simple terms, there are two points in the channel to find out:
1, the channel generally only three types of color black, white, gray (three channels respectively represent the black and white gray)
2, access to the background, through the background impact front
Special note: RGB channel is a color channel, the color channel is mainly used to record color information.
In addition to the color channel, there are spot channels and alpha channels
Second, spot color channel, is the exclusive color channel, mainly refers to the printing color.

Spot colors are mainly used for the allocation of colors, such as yellow gold-plated.
Third, the end of the alpha channel, which records the selection of information, to distinguish from the color channel.
If you make a constituency in the image and want to save it for a rainy month, you can do so.
Make selections first, then menu bar-select-Store Selections
The next time you need this constituency, just hold down CTRL and click on Alpha, which is convenient!
What is a mask? You can see it as a variant of the channel. It is generally used to display the display range of a layer.
