The previous article also introduced the basic content of wireless network interfaces. This article describes how to use wireless network interfaces. First, the precautions for installing and uninstalling wireless network interfaces are introduced. Next, we will introduce the driver. For more information, see the following.

The types of wireless NICs mainly include the USB interface type and the PCMCIA Interface Type. These two types of wireless NICs are easier to install and uninstall than ordinary plug-in NICs, in addition, it also supports direct hot swapping. The installation and uninstallation of wireless network cards are not just done, but follow the rules below:

Tips 1

Make sure that there is a certain interval between the installation and uninstallation of the wireless network card, because the operating system must have time to identify each step of the wireless network card.

Once the wireless network card is installed in the corresponding slot of the computer, it must not be immediately pulled out, or in a very short period of time, frequent insertion and removal of the wireless network card; once the interval between the installation and uninstallation of the wireless network card is less than 10 seconds, the wireless network card may not be accurately identified by the system, so that it is unlikely to work normally, in severe cases, the system crashes, and even the wireless network card may be damaged.

Tips 2

Pay attention to the installation and uninstallation sequence of the wireless network card, otherwise it may work abnormally.

Generally, when installing an out-of-the-box wireless network card, you only need to align the USB interface or PCMCIA Interface of the network card with the corresponding port of the computer to ensure that the system does not run other programs, then, use proper force to ensure that the wireless network card is in close contact with the computer's corresponding port. After insertion, you must wait until the signal indicator in the network card starts to flash, otherwise, the wireless NIC will not respond. When detaching a wireless network card, you must first disconnect the current wireless connection. When the working signal of the wireless network card does not flash frequently, enter the Device Manager window of the system, right-click the wireless network card icon and run the "properties" command from the shortcut menu. Then, in the corresponding property settings window, set the wireless network card to temporarily disabled, and then uninstall it. Of course, for an out-of-the-box wireless network card, you can simply double-click the USB device icon in the lower right corner of the taskbar, and then in the displayed Device List window, select the wireless network card option and click the "Disable" button. When the system prompts you to safely remove the device, the wireless network card can be pulled out from the computer.

Tips 3

The driver of the wireless network card must be correctly installed to maximize the potential of the wireless network card.

If the wireless network card has been correctly installed on the corresponding port of the computer, Windows will automatically identify it, and the driver Installation Wizard window will pop up, in this case, you must add the random wireless Nic drive CD to the optical drive to complete the NIC Driver Installation task. If the system cannot automatically identify the wireless network card, you need to check whether the corresponding port function on the computer has been enabled. For example, when installing a USB wireless network card, once the USB port on the motherboard is not enabled, the system cannot identify the wireless network card. At this time, you can go to the "Device Manager" interface of the system, check whether the "general serial bus controller" is normal. If not, restart the system and go to the system BIOS settings page, find the "PNP and PCI Setup" setting item, or the "PNP/PCI Configuration" setting item, set "USB Function" or "Assign IRQ For USB" under the corresponding settings to "Enable" to "Activate" the USB Function in the motherboard. Of course, if you install a wireless network card on a specified computer for the first time, you 'd better install the driver of the wireless network card first, and then insert the wireless network card into the corresponding port of the computer, this ensures that the wireless network card can be effectively recognized by computers.
