We do not know much about wireless network settings. How can we enhance the security of wireless networks and improve the stability of network signals? The following is a detailed introduction.
Although the implementation of wireless networks has been quite high at the beginning of the design, wireless network configuration is not a simple task for more new users. In the face of wireless network communication, it is a pity that the firewall is rejected because of incorrect configuration. To this end, we will introduce the basic wireless network configuration methods for several common wireless network applications.
IEEE 802.11b wireless network configuration
The IEEE 802.11b wireless network uses a wireless router (AP) as the core, works with the ADSL Modem or Cable Modem to achieve broadband network access, and then uses the wireless Nic to connect to the client, allows you to quickly and wirelessly share local and Internet resources. Because the connection speed of IEEE 802.11b reaches 11 Mbps, the effective transmission range is large, and the penetration capability is quite high, so practical value is better than Bluetooth, HomeRF and other technologies, and has become popular in China.
When configuring an IEEE 802.11b wireless network, the most critical step is to set the wireless router. Each wireless router has its own fixed IP address, and we configure the parameters of the wireless router by accessing this IP address. Take the 1100 wireless router of AboveCable as an example. its IP address is 192.168.168.230. Of course, the IP addresses of wireless routers of different brands are different. Therefore, you need to refer to the technical information of the manufacturer. To be able to access the IP address of the wireless router, we must place the connected network adapter in the same IP network segment. In this example, we can specify the IP address of the network adapter as 192.168.168.1 (192.168.168.XXX ).
Open a Web browser and enter the address of the wireless router in the address bar. At this time, the system requires you to enter the logon password. Generally, the password can be found in the product manual. The Setup Wizard is displayed for a new router that has not been set ). On the Connection Profile Configuration page, we can select the broadband network type. Generally, ADSL selects via PPP over Ethernet, while Cable or FTTB selects via DHCP. If the ISP needs to enter the user name and password, we can enter them in the corresponding location below.
If you want the wireless router to keep the Internet connection at all times, set Timeout to "0", so that even if there is no network data request for a long time, the wireless router ensures Internet connectivity. Of course, this method is only applicable to users with unlimited monthly network charges. If you are a timer user, never do so. Once the Timeout value is set to "0", even after the shutdown, as long as your wireless router is not powered off, it still connects to the Internet and is billed!
Then we can set the ESSID value of the wireless router. The default value is WLAN. The Set ESSID value must be kept in mind. It is like checking the password. All wireless NICs must use the same ESSID value to communicate with the wireless router. If the wireless router still needs to connect to a 100/10 M wired network, further settings are required. Select CONFIGURATION → Advanced → IP/DHCP on the main interface. The System IP Configuration page is displayed. In this case, all we need to do is to set DHCP to Enable. Once the user's wired network card and wireless network card's TCP/IP attribute are set to automatically get the IP address, you can get an IP address from the wireless router. As for the dns ip address, you can query the local ISP, which is generally not set. Finally, do not forget to click Save to Save the settings.
The wireless client can work properly only after the wireless network card is installed. Currently, most wireless network adapters use the PCMCIA Interface, which is applicable to laptops. After inserting the PCMCIA wireless Nic into the expansion slot of the laptop, Windows will immediately identify the device and require the driver. In this case, add the drive disc to the optical drive and then enable Windows to automatically search for the drive disc. In fact, the entire Driver Installation process is very simple. After the installation is complete, the system will require you to confirm how the wireless network works, that is, AccessPoint and Peer-to-Peer. AccessPoint refers to the communication between the wireless network card and the wireless router, while Peer-to-Peer refers to the direct communication with another terminal device connected with the wireless network card. In fact, the former forms a network topology equivalent to a star network, and the latter forms a peer-to-peer network structure. After setting the working mode to AccessPoint, go to control panel → network → wireless Nic attribute, and set the ESSID value to be the same as the ESSID value of the wireless router.
Finally, we must delete all redundant communication protocols on the Windows client, leaving only TCP/IP and allowing it to automatically obtain IP addresses, and disabling DNS. In this case, clients with wireless network interfaces can be involved in the Internet and communicate with other clients. GPRS wireless Internet access settings
After correctly installing the driver of the GPRS wireless network card, we can see the relevant devices in the system attributes. The next step can be set only when this is ensured. Connecting to GPRS requires a vendor-specific application because Windows is not integrated. After you open the GPRS connection wizard, you can enter the specific user name, password, DNS, and other information. For more information, see the local mobile communication company. Most GPRS wireless network cards have excellent connection wizard, so it is more convenient and intuitive to set.
As for using GPRS mobile phones to access the Internet, we use infrared rays and laptops for transmission. It is very easy to configure the infrared in Windows. Use the IE Connection Wizard that you are most familiar. First, establish an Internet Common connection. The most important step in this step is to select "Connect via telephone line and modem" when selecting the connection method ", this is a key step in ensuring smooth Internet access. Next, Windows requires you to enter the MODEM model. You can simply select a default model. In the next step, you need to enter a dial-up number for Internet access. For domestic GPRS services, you can set "* 99 #" to access the Internet. In the pop-up dialog box for username and password, you can ignore it. You don't need to fill in anything. Finally, you can get a name for this dial-up. A connection is created.
Then you need to make some settings for the connection, right-click the connection property, and select "infrared Modem Port" in the general column ", at the same time, enter "* 99 #" in the number dialog box. Now, the GPRS wireless Internet access setting is complete, which is very simple and convenient. Of course, when using the service, I must ensure that the mobile phone has activated the GPRS Service, and at the same time open the infrared ports on the mobile phone and the laptop, and pay attention to the placement angle. PDA Bluetooth settings
For PDA directly integrated with Bluetooth, the manufacturer installs Bluetooth drivers for you, so we do not need to worry about this. First, enable the PPC settings, and then set the NIC attribute in the connection unit. In order to connect to the peer network through Bluetooth, we must specify an IP address for the current Nic, which is generally set to 192.168.0.2, And the subnet mask is set to 255.255.255.0, while the default gateway remains blank. Do not set the DNS domain name resolution corresponding to the NIC on the PDA. Otherwise, the peer network will fail. Then, we can set the desktop's Bluetooth adapter IP address to 192.168.0.3 to ensure that the two are in the same network segment.
The default connection method for Internet Explorer in PPC is Modem, so we have to change the connection device. This step is not difficult. You can directly enter the connection settings and select "Bluetooth" as the Modem. Finally, we cannot forget to set the proxy server in IE. Its address is the IP address of the Bluetooth Nic on the desktop, and the port is generally set to 80.
Relatively speaking, using Bluetooth on PPC is quite simple. For PDAs that do not have a built-in bluetooth module, you can also use the CF interface or the SDIO interface's Bluetooth adapter to expand. The only pity is that such Bluetooth Internet sharing is an equivalent network, so the desktop cannot be shut down at this time.
