CentOS 6.5 under Install, configure, and start SSH Remote Access
1. Log in to the CentOS 6.5 system, log in with the root user, or perform a su or Su-or su root or su-root switch to the root user for non-root users.
2. Check to see if SSH is installed (check if the SSH package is loaded).
Input command: RPM-QA | grep ssh
Note that the CentOS 6.5 system already has an SSH package installed for us by default.
Note: If you do not have SSH installed, you can enter: Yum install openssh-server installation.
3. Check to see if the SSH service is running.
Input command:/ETC/INIT.D/SSHD status
The SSH service is already running in the CentOS 6.5 system.
4. If the SSH service in the CentOS 6.5 system is in a non-operational state, use the (Service sshd start) command to turn on the SSH service, stop the SSH Service Command (service sshd), restart the SSH Service command (service sshd restart). To demonstrate the effect, I'll stop the SSH service here, start the SSH service, and then restart the SSH service.
[Service sshd stop], [/etc/init.d/sshd status], [service sshd start]-> [service sshd restart]->[reboot to enter: NE TSTAT-ANTP | grep sshd to see if Port 22 is started]
5. Check if sshd is set to boot at this run level
Input command: Chkconfig--list sshd
In the CentOS 6.5 system, the SSH service is set to boot at this operating level, if not set, use the following command [Chkconfig--level 2345 sshd on] settings.
6. Set the SSH service to boot.
Input command: Chkconfig sshd on.
Note: SSH boot is not allowed if chkconfig sshd off.
7. Install the remote access client on the Windows system computer. "Common remote SSH login tools are: SecureCRT, Xshell, putty, etc... "I take Xshell as an example.
In Baidu search Xshell download and install.
8. Double-click on the desktop to start the Xshell tool.
9. In the software interface click location to add a user login information.
10. Fill in the user login information.
11. After completing the user login information, the click "OK" will jump to the session window.
12. Click "Connect" in the session window, a session box will pop up to prompt you for the host authentication key, here we directly select "Accept and save".
Note: This dialog box is typically displayed only when the user logs on to the server for the first time, except in outstanding cases.
13. Click "Accept and save" and the Enter User Name dialog box will appear.
Note: I use the root user login here, of course you can also use normal user login, but normal for security purposes, please use a normal user login.
14. After entering the login user name, click OK, and the Enter Password Verification dialog box will appear.
15. After entering the user name and password, click "OK" to connect to the server.
