Run yum to check whether mysql has been installed on Fedora 13 and you do not want to uninstall it and reinstall it.
Typing mysql directly does not respond. For details, refer to here.

Step 1: #/etc/init. d/mysqld start
==> There will be a bunch of things. Follow the prompts to set a root password.
Step 2: # service mysqld start
Step 3: mysql-u root-p
After entering the password, you will see the dream

When using mysql later,
Repeat steps 2 and 3. MS can be used to automatically start mysql when the system is started.
