It took nearly two hours to get down chrome today. After installation, the first thought is concise and fast, and no further research has been conducted. Consider importing favorites to facilitate browsing the Web page first, you have selected to import favorites from IE during the installation process. No web page appears and you have manually imported the favorites several times in the toolbar. The effect is the same. I am very puzzled. I have asked my colleagues who have installed them. They are all normal. It is okay to choose to import ie favorites during the installation process. As a result, I tried my best to find relevant information on the Internet. Since chrome was just released and was a beta version, there seems to be not much research on this issue. So I found the comprehensive information and analyzed it myself to solve it.
First, the analysis environment, I installed ie6.0 in the browser, travel 2.0, chrome, has been using travel, did not enable the online favorites function. The operation is to first export the favorites of roaming, and then import them from IE using chrome. I checked the IE favorites directory, but there was something in it, which should not be an export issue. I compared my colleagues' browser environment, they were all IE7, maybe the version issue? But I don't want to upgrade to version 7.0, So I installed chrome on the Virtual Machine (ie is version 7.0 on the Virtual Machine). Import the favorites to see if it is an IE version. Result: The favorites folder is successfully imported, and IE favorites appear in other bookmarks.
Now we will consider exporting chrome favorites from the virtual machine to the local machine, so that we can copy the favorites. However, it was found that Chrome did not have the function of exporting favorites, so it was depressing ...... It may be under development again. Now the task is clear, find the chrome favorites location. Found in c: \ Documents and Settings \ ** \ Local Settings \ Application Data \ google \ chrome \ User Data \ default, where ** represents your user name, there is a bookmarks file, among them, the "Roots" is the root directory of the favorites folder, and the address under bookmark_bar is the website that appears directly in the bookmark_bar. Other directories can be customized. However, the favorites names are converted to Unicode. Copy this file to the same directory on the local machine (when Chrome is disabled), open chrome again, OK, and the favorites are all over!
Similarly, after you need to install chrome in multiple places or reinstall it, copy the original user data directory to the new directory to overwrite it. In this way, all the original configurations are returned! Of course, this operation should be performed when chrome exits. Good luck!
