Google's new design interface four obsolete design prototypes

Google's new design interface has been unveiled, and it's a challenging task for Google's designers to redesign something that millions of people already know. In addition, Google also released the previous four of the design prototype eliminated.

Google, of course, wants to provide a more powerful and better search service, so after six months of testing, they finally have a full "face" . The main purpose of this change is to achieve stronger technology, faster results, highlighting the simplicity of the personalized experience of fun and quirky elves. It is certainly a challenging task for Google's designers to redesign something that millions of people already know.

A common way to add flexibility is to add a bunch of links to the left of the page, which is the left-hand side, and Google has been doing all sorts of crazy experiments on the home page since 2006 to find ways to provide powerful navigation without distracting attention, which is powerful and concise.

Google took the first step in May last year, the search options release, but it can be expanded/closed, allowing users to quickly experiment with new search tools, such as defining time and content types in visionary. Through "search visionary", designers, researchers and engineers worked together to find out the possibilities for permanent open search tools, Google made hundreds of prototypes, and collected user feedback on the new interface, plus the largest visual test ever. Finally, Google designed the dynamic tool sidebar associated with search and beautified it, which is the new search interface (pictured above) that you now see.

Google thought that once adding the left sidebar would inevitably lead to a higher proportion of the search results page, it designed a new, brighter Google logo (below) to make the new design feel lighter.

Accordingly, the bottom of the search results interface has also done lightweight processing, remove the light blue background and link underline, the overall color is more elegant, while expanding the search box (the following figure):

In the end, Google also showed four prototypes that were previously designed to compare the current design to a much stronger one? ）：

1. Blue home: Google has a passion for blue--after all, blue is usually the color of the link, is blue connected to the network, so the blue has become a lot of Google's design of the base color
2. Blue button: The Big blue button was the first experiment, but it was immediately scolded by the user.
3. Split Line for Universal search: This design shows different types of search into different parts
4. Blue Results page: This is Google's last design, where web search is called everything to show that Google wants to organize all the information in the world.
