Hercules enables the TCP/IP FTP service

Test objectives:
Hercules enables TCP/IP so that the PC and Hercules host groups can be built into a LAN to implement FTP, DB2 DRDA, and so on.
Test Configuration:
PC
IP: 192.168.0.113
MAC: 8C-A9-82-B7-A3-74
Operating System: WIN7 32-bit

Hercules host
IP: 192.168.0.220
GATEWAY: 192.168.0.113
The two IP addresses are in the same network segment, and the pc ip address is the GATEWAY of the Hercules host.

Experiment principle:
The mainframe hardware configuration is implemented through IOCDS. The Hercules configuration file is roughly equivalent to a real mainframe IOCDS definition file. Therefore, in Hercules, you can add a network adapter to the Hercules host by modifying the Hercules configuration file.
Herculs currently supports the following 5 adapters
1) CTCI (Channel-to-Channel link to Linux TCP/IP stack)
2) CTCI (Channel-to-Channel link to Win32 TCP/IP stack, formerly calledCTCI-W32)
3) CTCT (Channel-to-Channel emulation via TCP Connection)
4) LCS (LAN Channel Station emulation, Linux)
5) LCS (LAN Channel Station emulation, Windows)
Based on the test conditions, we select the second adapter, that is, through the CTCI (Channel-to-Channel link to Win32 TCP/IP stack, formerly called CTCI-W32)
To use this adapter, you must install WinPcap 4.1.2 by default. (Download it online by yourself)
To put it bluntly, WinPcap is a network packet capture tool. If WinPcap is not installed, Hercules cannot identify the configured adapter.
Similar Tools include CTCI-W32, FishPack and TunTap32. Note that, depending on the operating system version used by the PC, the versions required for such tools are also different, not any combination can ensure that TCP/IP is successfully enabled on z/OS.

Test procedure:
This article mainly consists of two steps. The first step is TO modify the Hercules configuration file and define the CHANNEL-TO-channel adapters.
Step 2 modify the TCP/IP PROFILE
1.1 install WinPcap 4.1.2
Download WinPcap4.1.2 from the PC and install it by default.
1.2 modify the Hercules configuration file
Add
0E20-0E21 CTCI-n 8C-A9-82-B7-A3-74192.168.0.220 0.0.0.0
Parameter description:
0E20-0E21 represents the 0E20 and 0E21 adapter addresses. To enable TCP/IP, you must add two adapters with the same configuration. If you find that the same address already exists in the configuration file, use # To comment out or adjust 0E20 and 0E21 (it is recommended to comment out the existing address)
8C-A9-82-B7-A3-74 is a PC Nic MAC
192.168.0.220 is the IP address of the hercules host.
0.0.0.0 is a placeholder. Because we have previously specified a PC Nic MAC, the placeholder is written here.
Writing a nic mac is a permanent task. On the one hand, you do not need to change the configuration file after the pc ip address is changed, on the other hand, it can meet the dynamic allocation of pc ip addresses.
Define the CTCI syntax. If you are interested, refer to Hercules-User Reference Guide.
1.3 start Hercules
After pown on, the system identifies the CTC device (yellow indicates OK; gray indicates a problem, which may be a problem with the config file or Nic)

If the system recognizes the CTC device, use IPL. Next, log on to the host.

1.4 modify TCP/IPPROFILE
Find the TCPIP address space in SD. DA as follows:

Find the PROFILE from the JCL parsing (JESJCL)

Modify the PROFILE. If you cannot save the modified configuration file, you can/P TCPIP
The start address of the CTC device is 0E20.

The Host IP address is defined as follows:

GATWAY definition, such

Start device definition, as shown in figure

PROFILE configuration file, starting with; is the comment line.
FTP activation is also defined in this file, which is generally defined. We only need to ensure that they are not commented out.

1.5 restart TCP/IP
/P TCPIP
/S TCPIP
After TPCIP is started, the following occurs (yellow indicates that the device is in use)

1.6 verification test results
