The following describes some experience and skills used in broadband routing. I hope this will be helpful for surfing the Internet. Only by forming good habits and correct configuration and maintenance of routers, in order to ensure the normal operation of the device and improve our Internet efficiency.
Set the account to make sure the dial is successful
During the actual use of the Broadband Router, we often encounter the phenomenon that we cannot successfully dial the bandwidth router. In most cases, we do not correctly set the automatic dialing parameters of the Broadband Router. In this case, follow the steps below to reset the dialing parameters of the Broadband Router.
First, run the IE browser program. Then, in the address bar of the IE browser window, enter the IP address of the Broadband Router. This address can be found in the operation manual of the Broadband Router, the default address is 192.168.1.1. After you confirm that the IP address is entered correctly, click Enter. An Account Logon window is displayed in the IE browser window, in this window, enter the correct account and password (this password can also be found in the operation manual of the Broadband Router), and then you can smoothly enter the Management window of the Broadband Router, click the "Network Parameters"/"WAN Port Settings" command in the menu bar of the window, and find the "WAN port connection type" option in the right pane of the interface, then, set this option parameter to "PPPoE", enter the user name and password of the dial-up Internet, save the preceding settings, and restart the Broadband Router, in this way, the automatic dial-up of the Broadband Router can be ensured.
Check DNS and open the webpage correctly
When we use a Broadband Router to dial up the Internet, we sometimes encounter a strange phenomenon that can use QQ but cannot open the webpage. This fault is usually caused by incorrect domain name resolution, we must re-check the DNS parameters of the Broadband Router.
When checking whether the DNS parameters are correct, you also need to run the IE browser program. Then, in the address bar of the IE browser window, enter the IP address of the Broadband Router and click Enter, in the Account Logon window, enter the account and password correctly. Then, you can go to the Broadband Router Management window, and click the "Network Parameters"/"DNS Service" command in the menu bar, on the settings page that appears later, check whether the DNS parameters are correctly set.
Generally, we should use the DNS server IP address provided by the local ISP instead of the default DNS Server IP address of the vro. After the DNS parameters are modified correctly, save the settings, save the above modification settings and restart the Broadband Router device. I believe this will solve the fault that cannot be opened on the webpage. Of course, if the above efforts still show that QQ cannot be used to access the Internet, we also need to go to the local connection Property setting window in the local computer system, select the "Internet Protocol" parameter, click "properties", and then on the "Internet Protocol property Settings" page, change the DNS server address used by the local Nic to the IP address of the DNS server provided by the local ISP, so that the failure of the web page cannot be completely solved.
Modify the address to make sure the settings are correct.
As you know, if the IP address of the workstation and the IP address used by the Broadband Router are not in the same CIDR block, the web page may fail to be accessed, how can we ensure that the IP address of the workstation and the IP address used by the Broadband Router are in the same network segment? To achieve this, You can implement the following two methods:
The first method is to first check the default IP address used by the Broadband Router, and then manually modify the NIC parameters of the workstation, make sure that the NIC address and the IP address of the Broadband Router are in the same CIDR block. For example, if the IP address used by the Broadband Router is 192.168.1.1 and the mask address is 255.255.255.0, we can open the local connection attribute setting window in the local computer system, select the "Internet Protocol" parameter, click the "properties" button, and then modify the IP address of the NIC to 192.168.1.xxx on the "Internet Protocol property Settings" page, the range of "xxx" is from 2 to 254, And the subnet mask address of the NIC is set to 255.255.255.0, and the default gateway address used by the NIC is set to 192.168.1.1, in this way, the IP address of the workstation and the IP address used by the Broadband Router are in the same network segment.
The second method is to enable the built-in DHCP Service of the Broadband Router to automatically assign IP addresses to the workstation. When using this method, we first run the IE browser program, then in the address bar of the IE browser window, directly enter the IP address of the Broadband Router, click the Enter key, in the Account Logon window, enter the account and password correctly. Then, you can go to the Broadband Router Management window, and click the "Network Parameters"/"DHCP service" command in the menu bar, on the settings page that appears later, set the parameters of the DHCP service. Next, open the local connection property settings window in the local computer system, select the "Internet Protocol" parameter, and then click the "properties" button. Then, on the "Internet Protocol property Settings" page, set the IP address of the NIC to "automatically obtain IP Address", and set the DNS parameter to "automatically obtain DNS server address ". After completing the above settings, turn off the power of the workstation power and the Broadband Router, and then connect the power of the Broadband Router. After the bandwidth router is stable, connect the computer power, in this way, the workstation can successfully dial the Internet through a Broadband Router.
Unbind and restore normal connection
Many ISP service providers force-bind the MAC address of the Broadband Router on the authentication server to Prevent Users From connecting too many Workstations To A Broadband Router for Internet sharing, to limit the number of workstations. In this case, we can use the following method to cancel binding a Broadband Router to a MAC address:
First, disconnect the connection between the Broadband Router and the Internet, connect the workstation to be bound with the MAC address to the lanport of the Broadband Router, and then use the MAC address replication function of the Broadband Router, clone the MAC address of the NIC of the local workstation to the WAN port of the Broadband Router device. Many routers have the function of cloning the MAC), and then restart the Broadband Router device, in this way, we can unbind the default IP address of the Broadband Router.
Use Reset to retrieve lost passwords
If we do not manage or maintain a Broadband Router for a long time, it is easy to forget its administrator account and password. If there is no operation manual for the Broadband Router at hand, therefore, it is difficult for us to go to the backend Management page of the Broadband Router to manage and maintain it.
In this case, how should we retrieve the lost administrator password? In fact, some Broadband Router manufacturers have already considered this problem for users. They often have designed a Reset button in the Broadband Router control panel, and keep holding the button for several seconds, all the parameters of the device can be restored to the factory configuration. In the future, we only need to use the default username and password to log on to the backend Management page of the Broadband Router.
Troubleshoot one by one to ensure stable Internet access
In the process of using a Broadband Router to access the Internet, it is often possible that the Internet is stable, for example, frequent disconnection, long periods of access failure, otherwise it will be unable to access the Internet. In the event of such an unstable Internet connection failure, we may take the following steps to troubleshoot one by one:
First, check whether Multiple DHCP servers exist in the LAN environment connected to the Broadband Router. If so, the IP address of the workstation is prone to confusion, as a result, the Workstation may be unstable or even unable to access the Internet. Under normal circumstances, DHCP servers may be enabled for broadband routers, Windows servers, and broadband cats. Therefore, we need to check these devices one by one, make sure that only one of these devices enables the DHCP service, and the other devices disable the DHCP service.
Next, check whether the Broadband Router is in a well-ventilated and heat-dissipation location. If it is not properly placed, it will be prone to excessive fever after a period of time, serious faults can cause unstable Internet access. Therefore, when we are unfortunately experiencing an unstable Internet connection failure, we must touch your hand to see if the Broadband Router housing is hot, if yes, it can be concluded that the unstable Internet access failure is caused by the unstable heat dissipation of the Broadband Router.
If the above check does not eliminate the problem of unstable Internet access, it is necessary for the system to scan and kill the virus, because once the system is accidentally infected with the virus, A variety of strange faults may occur. Therefore, we must develop a good habit of regular virus detection and elimination and regular upgrade of the virus database to prevent network viruses from causing problems on the Internet.
